    28 home runs, about a 337 OBP. Not traded, because having a 2B at the end of his contract is somehow more important to a bad team than taking a chance on prospects. Heck, I predict he's signed to an extension, and they never trade him, just like Perkins.

    Let's see what changes....Not holding my breath on Molitor changing, but we'll see. As for the players on the roster, I don't know if I could be more underwhelmed on the "changes" they've made.

    It's not like the front, middle, or back end of the Twins' rotation is anything special. The Dodgers are projected to be the best staff in the game, even with Urias held back....it makes good sense to hold him back, use him less early, and have him ready for the playoffs. That all makes sense for the MLB roster this year, and the future. I guess we just disagree that having 1 number 3 and 4-8 number 5 starters, is the same as having the Dodgers rotation.

    You don't see any difference in finding room on the Dodgers' rotation, the best in the baseball, than on the Twins' rotation?

    Or maybe the Dodgers have one of the deepest rotations in the game? They are number 1 overall in the Fangraphs WAR projections for starting pitching, filled with great or good pitchers, while the Twins are 26th.....

    I knew Hrbek was big, but he's so big he occupies third and first place in walks? I am guessing first is Harmon? total guess.

    I say he does what he did last year, rate wise. Counting wise? Adjust for 120 games. So, about the 18-20th best 1B in the league. As for Park staying, they got lucky no one claimed him, I guess. Because if they thought he was going to be here, they never would have cut* him. *or whatever fancy word MLB uses for what the transaction was.

    Basically, as long as they are in the minors, you can keep arguing that giving up on them is not ok. Basically, I can never win this argument, no matter how many fail or don't make it, because there will always be more minor league RPs.

    IIRC, he's one of the guys that decided swing plane and elevating the ball was more valuable than hitting down on it, and that's why he changed, but that could be a lack of sleep thing causing me to imagine things.

    I bet if we searched not that hard, we'd see that we were told "just wait, in 2016 you'll see these RPs up, and we can judge the strategy then". I assume some guys will get hurt again, and some will be blocked by mediocre veterans, and we'll be told to just wait until 2018.... Also, Wimmers was a SP, not a RP, when drafted. I'll acknowledge the wins when they actually occur for more than 1 year in the majors, that seems fair.

    It can be the "right" choice, and still be disappointing. If they passed on him Benintendi due to other players in the majors, that would be bad. I do agree, he'd be in low A right now, maybe high A.

    it's almost like you missed the point on purpose.....people here keep typing that prospects don't develop in the majors, that's what the minors are for. Maddon disagrees.

    Funny, I don't think "fun" is the word I'd pick.... But, this is what you get, imo, when being not bad takes precedence over rebuilding, you get bad.

    I agree with Seth, while there may be some small shifts in who is used in the 7th or 8th, I don't think anyone has really changed bullpen usage all that much in the regular season.

    Joe Maddon, who knows more than any of us, says that development has to continue at the MLB level, and that you shouldn't wait for perfection for pulling guys up. I'll go with him, on this. And no, it's not like your analogy at all.
