    Heh, would have been nice to buy Whole Foods yesterday! But, they aren't doing well. I'm not sure I do this if I'm Amazon. I'm very curious about this move. I understand they want to be more vertical, and physically present, but I have my doubts about this.

    he's not ready because he's not up? We don't know that. No one knows that. At least he should be in AAA, but this FO isn't promoting anyone right now.

    We have no evidence this FO will call up RPs from the system. Indeed, all the evidence shows otherwise. I don't get it.

    Agreed, i should have been more clear, I really, really, really like Gordon right now. It's why I would be unhappy with a trade of him for some mediocre pitcher under control for 1.5 years or so....

    dollar cost averaging is a myth, or whatever you call a "theory that doesn't play out in practice".....just buy investments all thru your life, and try not to sell them unless you need the cash or a much better one comes along.... Brock, I don't think it's a bad plan, given your psychology/preferences. Possibly also your chosen life style of foster parenting.

    by "we all", you don't mean "we", btw. I don't have any such expectation right now, as he has yet to play one minor league game. I expect Gordon to be a slightly above average SS for 8 or more years. If Lewis is an above average SS or CF for 8+ years, I won't be disappointed in Lewis (though I may be disappointed they didn't draft someone else).

    I can't put an injured RP that high. No way Jay is in the top 10 for me anymore. Sigh, bummer. I think Lewis and Gordon will be about equal, on most sites. Both 55ish players.

    It was very well written indeed. After day 1, I was confused, I'll admit it. But, once people explained why Leach would go before Enlow, it made a lot more sense. Still not exactly what I would have done, but at least they took some upside pitching. And Rooker is intriguing, I hope they push him up fast to start.

    Agreed, there is nowhere else for him to be than in the MN Twins' lineup.

    Just a guess.....but partly that, and partly they played 7 inning games, and they wanted the bullpen to get work in both.

    Yes, but that's super risky. Why not just take the one guy you really like? It looks like the Yankees may have tried something like that this year, but it's hard to tell exactly what they were thinking.

    None of those guys were 22 yo college players, other than the RPs.....who got hurt. Think more Matt Garza, or look at what other teams do with college seniors.

    So Rooker won't be here for 4 years? Wright and McKay won't be in the majors for 4 years?

    I don't think you can call him a star just yet....and he's not just a little behind Correa. He can't even see Carlos from how far behind he is. BTW, elite level players are USUALLY elite level players by 23 or 24. That's part of why they are elite, they are already among the best at a young age, and stay that way. We've seen very little evidence he can hit yet. OTOH, his defense is quite impressive. Amazing even.

    I think that's fair for the waiver guys, not so much Belisle and Breslow. We should expect the waiver guys to fail, really.
