  1. Minnesota beat one good team, and Auburn is over rated? I think Minnesota will be fortunate to win this game. They are still not as deeply talented as the top teams. Hopefully, this year's success helps change that.
  2. Like whom? What great pitcher is on a bad team, with only a year or two of control?
  3. I was excited. I wanted him up and playing, even more. Certainly didn't expect last year, but he's always been a good hitter.
  4. How would that hamstring the team? They have thirty or forty million to work with. Cruz comes off next year. Probably Rosario. Where else are they going to spend money? Buxton, Berrios and Sano, maybe. Not Garver, he's an older catcher. Next year's free agent pitching class is not pretty.
  5. How will signing a guy past 2 years hinder keeping the core? Odo will be gone, Cruz will be gone. Rosario will likely be gone, if not in 21, then in 22. Of the core, only Buxton, Sano, and Berrios will need signing in the next two-three years (you aren't extending a catcher that can't be a free agent until he's 31 any time soon).
  6. I really thought Pineda would get three years, and more money.... From someone else. A pleasant surprise that he's back.
  7. Nice backup signing. And thankfully they saved money.
  8. I agree we will see another move, I'm hoping for a really good pitcher still....
  9. In any other year, they don't need four starters. It's a good move, but they need another. Unless people think the minors are three deep in starters....
  10. I'm all in on extended netting. Goof for them.
  11. Berrios and, um, Gibson. That's it in how long? Not a good track record to be sure. Hopefully this FO and development team is better than the last decade was.....
  12. That's what happens when you enter an off season with only two pitchers. Failure to acquire a pitcher in previous years is haunting this team. Free agency is the price you pay for those failures.
  13. I'd try him in the bullpen, but not as a starter at this point.
  14. Strasburg will be in Washington, I have no doubt. Cole will not be in MN, I have no doubt.
  15. I like Keuchel, but not so much if the infield is Sano/Polanco/Arraez......
  16. This team, according to you on other posts, should be signing a big time pitcher this year. So I'm not sure what you are arguing here.
  17. It's a pattern. If it wasn't a pattern, it would be different.... That said, it is way too early to judge this off season yet....way too early
  18. Like whom in trade? Because there aren't many good pitchers on bad teams, not that will be available
  19. I wouldn't....I said that is what it would cost..... You can't be serious. Chapmann is cheaper than Buxton, healthier, and better. And has another year of control.....
  20. Why would Oakland do this? Chapmann costs less than Buxton, and has an extra year of control. He's never been hurt, and he's better than Buxton. Buxton, Lewis, and the SP in the minors the As most want....that's what it would cost.
