In any other year, they don't need four starters. It's a good move, but they need another. Unless people think the minors are three deep in starters....
Berrios and, um, Gibson. That's it in how long? Not a good track record to be sure. Hopefully this FO and development team is better than the last decade was.....
That's what happens when you enter an off season with only two pitchers. Failure to acquire a pitcher in previous years is haunting this team. Free agency is the price you pay for those failures.
I wouldn't....I said that is what it would cost..... You can't be serious. Chapmann is cheaper than Buxton, healthier, and better. And has another year of control.....
Why would Oakland do this? Chapmann costs less than Buxton, and has an extra year of control. He's never been hurt, and he's better than Buxton. Buxton, Lewis, and the SP in the minors the As most want....that's what it would cost.
The post I responded to said that any takes that Lewis MIGHT NOT stick at short were fan takes. They clearly aren't ONLY fan takes. That was the discussion..... I think the jury is still out. It also depends on the progress of other SS in the system, and Buxton's health, IMO. As for trading for a top 25 or so player, with multiple years of control left.....um....not happening.
well, if you think those guys will be better hitters than Rosario has ever been, I can see why don't want to trade them....since Chapman has outhit Eddie....
In their last writeup, they say most scouts think he can stick at SS, which was NOT THE CASE a year ago......https://blogs.fangraphs.com/top-41-prospects-minnesota-twins/ again, not a fan take.
