  1. Not to mention they have zero OFers on the roster for next year, and need data on Wallner and Larnach (if they don't believe in them, trade them while someone else might).
  2. Plus it stresses the bullpen. The only reason this would make any sense is if they want to rest Ober, given his lack of innings pitched the last few years (or to trade Gray, which I don't think this FO is selling).
  3. I doubt a couple days rest fixes years of not hitting by the three starting OFers.....and Miranda clearly hasn't fixed his problems from last year.
  4. People have named them all over this site. You've poo pooed all of them. Which is a fine opinion, but don't pretend people haven't named names.
  5. Apparently that was either ornamental onions, or one leek and ?. In any event, we aren't eating that part of what I pulled. OTOH, a decent amount of potatoes from the small plants, there is one large one left that isn't dead yet. All the potatoes are "I thought I got all those" so they are bonus potatoes (other than taking up that part of the garden).
  6. I'm not buying unless they are fixing the O......you can't score 2 or less runs in 40% of your games and expect to win any playoff games. So, no to all these unless it is the third thing they do.
  7. Hard not to have Varland higher, given he's already had success in MLB.....but I get it. Martin > SWR for sure for me.
  8. I'd be for this, but I think the price will be too high. But it sure would help the team until Lewis returns, at which point what do you do with Lewis, if he refuses to play CF (sure would be nice to have him there instead of Taylor). That's a lot more runs if those two things happen...... Miranda and a corner OF from AAA and a middling prospect? IF they can get Lewis to move to the OF, I do that all day.
  9. I think that's fair. If Jenkins is a 60 and Soto a 50, that's an amazing draft just with the top two picks. I haven't looked at the other sites in detail....
  10. Started eating the smaller tomatoes this week. I'm guessing the first big ones will ripen while we are in Norway at the beginning of August. The grape plant looks like it could feed all of Oregon. I'm curious if they will all taste good. So many grapes. The potatoes that surprising were there again? I've only pulled up one plant, and the potatoes were tiny. Likely eating them tonight (when I pull up another plant or two). The peas failed this year. They look like they've failed in every garden I've seen on walks at at neighbors. No idea what's up with that. I think I accidentally killed our red poppy plant. Sigh.
  11. I love that these guys come here for this. Also, great that he's talked to Lopez.
  12. FWIW, Fangraphs has Lee a 55 and Jenkins a 50..... I'd put Jenkins 2nd easily. They only have Soto a 40.....so, 18th overall. I think they are clearly low on him, and I'm guessing the Twins have him in the 45 or 45+ range. The Twins system is DEEP in 40-45_ guys......according to FG.
  13. FWIW, Fangraphs has Lewis a 55 and Jenkins a 50.......IIRC. Overall, I think it shows just how DEEP this year's pool is, which is why I liked the strategy of picking the best player at 5, rather than playing underslot games.
  14. Agreed. It is POSSIBLE he could work out of the pen, but even that seems unlikely......His stuff isn't going to get out MLB hitters....that said, if they try it, fine. Also, if they try it, it will confirm, for me, their insane belief that only old guys should be on the roster this year........and, i get not everyone agrees with me. I'm not trying to convince anyone here...
  15. Great insight, which I agree with! Love the upside here, and believe he needs a couple years to get used to his body.
  16. This. We have no idea what his condition is. Other than they don't play him in the field, which is an indication of what they think it is. I really wish he could play the field, but wishing isn't going to change anything.
  17. Are you of the belief they aren't playing him there, even though he clearly could? That anyone wants him at DH, and not the OF? Actions speak loudly. They don't think it's a good idea. Or they'd play him there. Hopefully that changes in the future.
  18. Thanks. So, ya. Getting worse isn't a problem. They can't win with this team. Find out if you can with the next set....
  19. It's also just the kind of thing a leader says, true or not......so I didn't miss the point.....Other than "You're fired" or "You're hired" very little of what the owners say matters at all, and might not even fully reflect their feelings or how things really are. Leaders don't bash their employees in public, generally....they try to be diplomatically nice.
