    I'm not walking one block to the bar to watch this....I don't care how bad the oline is, they haven't scored in two and a half games. Why is he playing? He's proven he can't, here and Arizona. It isn't scheme....

    Other than the CC signing, no big free agent goes to mid market teams. So all this does is raise the price the big market teams pay.... Nothing changes here, other than players getting more money. There is no evidence payroll affects costs to ticket buyers.

    Much of it is deferred, at the player request supposedly, so the team can still be competitive. I'm happy for the player!

    If every team is doing it....that is the going rate. so, not an over pay.

    no compensation. The deterant at the major league level is you have to keep them in the majors. In the minor league level? 40 man issues. You already have guys you like more, etc.

    good point. I love this trade for both teams, given the context of who they are (money wise) and the competitive position they are in.

    I'm guessing here....but other players are waiting for Ohtani to sign, so they can negotiate with the big spenders....which is holding all of them up..... It isn't even middle of December.....and almost nothing has happened all over baseball....

    I don't agree....Montas was quite good when healthy. Those other guys were well past being good (if they ever were).

    His babip the second half last year was top 10 in all of baseball.....good luck with that being sustainable. If a team pays Kepler more than 20 million a year in 2025 I'll be very, very, surprised.

    from what I've read, there are better QBs in the portal, and OSU wants one of them.....so he saw the writing on the wall

    Again.....Lewis, CC, Jeffers are all RH...why do we need another one? (and Polanco is a switch hitter). Oh, and Buxton.... What they need is hitters. Heck, at this point, they might have more RH hitters in the lineup, making the argument that it matters for late in the game wrong....
