  1. and there are fans that think the transfer portal is bad......
  2. Three years? Wow.
  3. "first year" come on. It was a couple months. and how long was he in AAA, a year out of college in his first full year as a pro. Night and day. Night and day.
  4. He doesn't walk either...... I'm indifferent to this move, as long as he doesn't block some AA player from moving to AAA. Or some AAA player from playing the OF when he should be.
  5. If they did, they'd have no veterans.....on the roster at all in 3 years, give or take. Some production, sure, but that wasn't the post's point, I don't think. The Twins did get production from at least 3 last year......
  6. Dingers win games when pitchers are this good. It's so hard to string hits together now.
  7. Gordon has been more successful, and can play more positions. I'm curious why?
  8. I didn't read the article for a lot of reasons, but blaming someone else for whatever is happening is ridiculous. The owners and FO have all the responsibility here. All of it.
  9. There are zero CBs from the previous regime. Two good DL and no LB. The defense was abysmal. They had no QB last year, they won 13 games the year before ... The first draft was not good. Last year was better than average. Need a better one this year for sure.
  10. Addison and Pace on the all rookie team. Maybe the GM doesn't suck, and the issue is partly what he took over...
  11. Sure, let's judge a guy in a handful of games, not a season of them.
  12. But, that's what they did last year....that was the point of the post. It wasn't about what we'd do, but what they actually did.
  13. I didn't say forever. Whatever. He had to have polanco get hurt twice to be on the roster. Wallner had to wait for injury, even with Gallo being a DFA candidate. If you feel they'll promote guys and let veterans go, I'm ok with that. We'll disagree.
  14. Ya, we have no idea what ownership feels about a rebuild.... The defense has zero CBs from the old regime. One linebacker. Two good DL. That's hard to fix. The first draft was bad, but the dice roll on Booth being healthy just didn't work. Not giving them credit for signing a udfa that worked out is weird. I don't have a ton of faith in the GM, but it's way too early to know, especially since we don't know if ownership has given him free reign. They won 13 games with a healthy QB. This year wasn't great, but there were somehow in the playoff hunt with no QB most of the year. Hockenson getting hurt is a big blow to next year.....
  15. Agreed they have much to prove, but it's been all of two years.....
  16. One bad draft, one average draft. The issue was how little talent was here before.
  17. No one that subs for Wallner, Buxton, Julien is sitting on the bench most days, not close.
  18. And yet, he sat in AAA until there was an injury. That was my point....that "he'll play when ready" just isn't a thing in MN right now. At some point, you either believe in a prospect or not. I'm ready on Martin. I understand others would rather have a mediocre veteran (because they aren't signing an expensive one) and hope the team gets lucky and that veteran is actually good than take a chance on Martin. I'm not trying to change anyone's mind.
  19. Agreed, if they don't want to pay Hunter and Cousins (or only 1), they aren't winning much of anything next year most likely....this has to be a discussion they are having with ownership.
  20. No one that backs up Buxton, Julien, and Wallner is going to just sit on the bench. Not even a little. As for "when they are ready," that's not how it works. A veteran would have to get hurt to get a rookie up here, we saw that last year with Wallner and Julien....
  21. 100% this happens. Governments can't hand billionaires money fast enough.
  22. Why? They get zero value from him there. Zero. I don't get fans obsession with reunions. It happens every year. There is little to no upside here, move on.
  23. Ugh. That was partly on Allen getting hit, or not taking diggs early. Ugh.
