  1. I think that's why I wouldn't also....it isn't a championship team and I'm willing to risk injury for these two w/o that being the case......but I'm bored with the same old topics (and general negativity) on the site....
  2. I'd be down with Stewart pitching that much, but he isn't, is he?
  3. They had one position open, really, and that was first base. I'm not sure why anyone would expect them to replace any other starter. That said, agreed, the problem here is offense.
  4. I defended the pipeline the last few years, as it takes time to actually develop pitchers.... But it's time for someone to be at least reliable other than Ober. SWR might be that guy, but we'll not know any time soon. The promise of a few prospects means nothing of no one new cintributes seriously this year, given how many mediocre guys starting in Minnesota.
  5. Would anyone consider moving Duran or Stewart back to starting? I'm fairly sure I would not .... But it crossed my mind today....
  6. Agree on all fronts. Martin over Margot was an easy choice. Santana? Never liked this at all, and they'll hang into him forever. They love veterans. The youth carried this team last year and they went out and bet on old, mediocre, players? I wanted them fired if they didn't make the playoffs last year, and if they don't this year? I'm ready to move on. If Farmer isn't the backup SS, they should have kept Gordon. I don't know if there is a cheap SP I liked.... So I don't know what to do there given they cut payroll. In any event, they decided not to trust the farm, again, and the guys they brought in are even worse than I feared....
  7. 4-5? Compared to what other pitchers? Wow.
  8. So, no credit for coaching at the MLB level? If anyone thought he was a number three when traded, he'd have brought back a lot more than he did. We'll just disagree, I'm ok with that.
  9. I guess we'll just disagree, given how he compared to all the other LF last year. I'm ok with that
  10. We just going to litigate this in every thread now?
  11. I'm suggesting they developed him to what he is. In response to saying they've developed no one. He was 77th in era last year among pitchers throwing 100 innings or more, so ya, he's a number three.
  12. He had the second highest wtc+ of all LF last year. What would have impressed you?
  13. Are you suggesting Ryan was a finished product when they acquired him? He was a number three pitcher traded for three months of a DH?
  14. Nah. If he fails here, someone will sign him. He's likely better than what Chicago or Oakland is fielding....
  15. No. Alas. Except Martin is playing OF, so yes?
  16. I agree with others, if Farmer isn't here to backup SS, why is he here, especially with the budget cuts? Really confused at the decision making here.
  17. Maybe they will call up one of those guys and need Kemp to replace them? Not that this veteran loving FO would do that...
  18. Why anyone would down vote a hopeful post like this is truly mind boggling. Truly.
  19. I'm with you on larnach, though he's actually been better than I thought, it's expectations that make judging him hard. He's been a league average hitter the last two years! Which most here wouldn't believe.
  20. Fair. Let's see how long Bowman lasts....
  21. I'm annoyed they want lots of mediocre guys so they have depth, instead of just going with the better players that have options. But, this is their MO.....
  22. He might need to go down for a month or so..... As some of us said in the off season, he was great last year, but he might go down at some point this year and then come back. I'm not sure we're at that point yet, but we're at least close. As for Martin, they should have been relying on him last post season and to start this year....
  23. I see the young hitters were good, and the veterans were not.....hmmm.....
  24. I'll bet good money this isn't the "one last time" you post on this :) I have no idea what they were thinking, but it wasn't what I was thinking....
  25. Other than Burnes, was any good starter traded? Would Milwaukee even want Polanco? I mean, I would have preferred a different tac, but I'm not sure what really could have been done other than spending money, which this FO (and most that aren't big markets) don't do for SPs at all.
