  1. People still listen to Barreiro? Huh.
  2. Sure, but over one billion dollars for fun? Maybe..... Is very different than a car.
  3. Why would someone buy it if it loses money? I see people at saying someone will but it for fun. I guess that's possible. In any event, it happens eventually and then we'll see if things are better or not.
  4. If they lose money, why are they with so much. What evidence do you have at all? Because when they are sold for more than a billion dollars, it won't be out of charity.
  5. This all started as an anti liberal policy, which is funny.. Interesting timing.
  6. Why would you do this to me in the morning?
  7. I'm not sure people get the bit....
  8. I'm guessing that's because other teams realize most pitchers are RH......and they let their best hitters hit. Like, you know, Wallner....
  9. They have Festa and Matthews ready in AAA. I'm not worried about counting on Paddock one way or the other.
  10. Is this even a question? He was quite good last year. I have no idea how this is debatable.
  11. Or, he sits in the minors for years just in case he can be a starter maybe someday and make no money He's not starting this year, he's likely to get few innings. Then next year they'll build him up, but he's almost certainly not starting next year. So that's two years of making zero money... He's been healthy when?
  12. Cannot tag Murphy due to an extension of something or other, so they need an agreement in the next week .. or he's a free agent.
  13. I'm ok with that. I think next year is a transition year, and I'd rather move a year early, but I get it
  14. Trout like swing isn't saying at all he'll be Trout. Sure, a person or two will say big things, but to say that's how experts or most people feel is a huge leap.
  15. Who's "they", because I sure as heck don't recall that. Anyone who said he was likely Cole is silly in their analysis, imo. Fangraphs said Zebby would be around the 50-60th best prospect, if he still was one, btw.
  16. Same. Prelipp could be in the bullpen making MLB money this year, but they'll keep him as a SP "just in case"....just like Jax. There are like 6 dudes ahead of Prelipp on the depth chart.....
  17. I'd give Julien every chance to show he's what he was 2 years ago. 2B, DH, 1B, whichever of those they want. I'd give Larnarch a 1B glove, and have him in LF and 1B and DH. I'd give Miranda a 1B glove and a 3B glove. Hmmmmm, I'd also like Lee at 2B or 3B......now I'm not sure what I'd do. I'd give Julien the first chance at 2B or DH. I'd give Larnarch LF and 1B and DH. I think Lee is the better fielder of any 3B option long term, but I'm not sure how that works with Lewis (who will be hurt soon anyway). Bader is the CF when Buxton is hurt or resting, and the LF vs LH pitchers. The Twins have 2 LH hitters. How the hell are they overbalanced? Seriously.
  18. There are a good half dozen guys in front of him for the rotation at this point. He's either traded, used in the bullpen, or wasted because they want him starting in the minors "just in case."
  19. I'm not sure how it is the Twins' fault Lewis is hurt all the time. I won't judge them for that at all. I don't think any serious person compared him to Trout, ever. There were questions about his position in every national write up, for one thing...... I agree, though, this team loves it's veterans and I wouldn't want to be drafted by them (except pitchers, I'd be happy to be in MN then).
  20. Lee has less at bats than Rooker did when they gave up on him* Yet people are giving up on Lee and Julien ... * Not sure this is true, but it's in the ballpark and makes the point.
  21. Only looking at cases where strategy works seems like a weird analysis....
  22. I'm not sure anyone is opposed to some platoons.... But at some point, you have to let players play thru difficulties. And if you are going to platoon, you need to have actually good partners. As for this specific case, I'm with everyone else. I'll believe it when I see it. They showed how little patience they have last year when they sent Wallner down after his bad start.
  23. Why? Because I want the core of the team to mature with the new QB.
