  1. Put Sandy Koufax arm on Mike Pelfrey's body, in Yankee stadium
  2. Put a Joe Mauer head on David Ortiz body and tell him to hit home runs.
  3. I was about to ask what happened. I'm guessing you answered it perfectly.
  4. every additional run the Twins score this inning, the more pressure put on Pelfrey?
  5. I like Suzuki but I'm not sure I like your comment enough to press the little red bar Seems like Zuke could use a few days off, especially after his fluke foot injury a couple nights ago.
  6. Nolasco will be eligible to come off the DL by next Tuesday. Maybe you will see Nolasco?
  7. Does Suzuki have another innings incentive this year that the club is complicit in him reaching? (only half joking)
  8. Mauer may not be blocking anyone at AAA but didn't Vargas come up as a 1B? You can't help but wonder what a valuable piece Vargas would be in a few years with regular playing time at first. 'Little Papi' as Ortiz calls him.
  9. I actually think a panel is a good idea. For example, you could have a 5 person panel consisting of the team's GM, the assistant GM, the team scouting director, and the field managers of both teams, all who contribute input, with the panel to be chaired by the General Manager, who makes the final call. Boras. What a buffoon.
  10. Someone in the game thread mentioned how it seemed Suzuki was suddenly allowing more pitches to get past him. Maybe his fluke foot injury two nights ago was affecting him more than he let on. In that case he should get a few days off. If I recall, the Boyer wild pitch was just a straight fastball over the plate but in the dirt that he didn't even block or get his mitt on and it hit the umpires foot. Also, Twins pitchers have struck out only 2 batters the last 2 games. Really, Twins? Right now would be the perfect time to call up Pinto.
  11. Don't use your 5,000th post on Tim Stauffer or Jordan Schafer--you will regret it
  12. That's too bad. Maybe they will open a Papa Murphy's close to your area someday.......
  13. mlb.com is saying that our corner outfielders made all the putouts that inning. Anybody watching who can say what really happened?
  14. oy, and you had the hazmat alert on your street recently too (I think that was you)
  15. How's everyone doing tonight? Having a good day???
  16. If Alex Meyer had a good day, I'm betting Terry Ryan also had a good day
  17. Inexcusable and disappointing. Maturity takes time and he kind of reminds me of a young Gomez in that sense, though without the fielding talent. He will play himself out of a job if he continues to hot dog plays like that.
  18. The hot seat list looks pretty accurate. I overestimated Schafer. Like another poster pointed out, Schafer is terrible at playing line drives in front of him. Not to mention he's not getting on base. However, I think he still has value as a bench-only guy with speed and a D replacement. Small quibble--I think Trevor May pitched pretty good his first outing too. Molitor is tending not to use the late inning PH, which limits Nunez usefulness quite a bit. And then there's Pelfrey.......
  19. Yeah let's see Buxton hit for a few solid weeks before even having this discussion. If it's defense that Souhan is looking for (join the club, buddy) then maybe Robinson is worth a look next.
  20. Yeah when I said "room to improve" I meant at the plate I don't think anyone is claiming Arcia is the worst of our problems, but I think people misinterpret him. I think if he can harness his emotions he'll be a very good hitter and a little wiser in the field. It will take time. (That's my view from 35,000 feet anyway.)
  21. I know how bad Arcia can look at times. I've also seen him be a catalyst and know he is immensely talented with room still to improve. I would go in to war with Oswaldo Arcia 7 days a week. Meanwhile, Torii Hunter missed another cut off man today. That's all I got.
