  1. Just be sure to check in on the score of the game. If the Twins are losing and on their way to 0-10, just tell her you have to end the date early so you can go online and keep us company on the game thread. Sounds like a plan?
  2. In this case, it doesn't vary, not by much.
  3. Not sure. Because those three last year don't count in the standings against us anymore?
  4. I will admit, it is perversely interesting to go back and re-read threads or jump into a new thread, and see people complain about 0-7 or not to worry about being 0-6
  5. I am perfectly fine with Buxton, Rosario, and Kepler being shuttled to and from Rochester this season, if that's what is needed for them. However, the core group of KC guys: Gordon, Hosmer, Moustakas, Salvadore Perez, and not counting rehabs, were only sent down to the minors twice between them all. One of those times was ironically a two month stint for Alex Gordon to switch from 3B to outfield. I definitely agree with Mike by asking why our guys can't come up and produce immediately, like these other guys. In the end, I don't think anyone will question it or care that they were wrong back in 2016 if the Twins eventually get the same results as the Royals.
  6. So you are good for another couple weeks!
  7. So, you are saying the David Murphy signing is a ploy to sell more tickets?
  8. He clearly has done or said something offensive or personal against Molitor or Ryan. That's what I'm going with. Because the excuse in the past for not playing him was he struck out too much. His defense isn't great but it's not as bad as people portray it to be. I wish someone would explain it to the rest of us rubes.
  9. Which is more, Wild goals, or Twins runs? There's some comedic possibility there. At least for the half dozen games or so the Wild have left.
  10. I'm willing to use Glynn in relief, if only for the horned-rimmed glasses resemblance to Joe Maddon.
  11. Making extra work for the opposing pitcher having to throw the ball to first, sure
  12. I've submitted a help desk ticket to Brock for more smileys ASAP
  13. I've put in an expedited ticket to Brock to get you more likes before the end of the game also, nannie-nannie boo boo for not being able to like this reply
  14. guilty, but thank you for the gut check.
  15. Actually Park made a weird but athletic play backing off the base into foul territory to catch the bounce. As others noted, the call should have been out, not safe.
  16. His body language today is saying: eff this ess, and that's the best I can code it for you!
  17. I was trying to have fun. Your fun meter must be broken. Unfortunately there are no technicians around here who know how to fix one of those, nor are there any fun meters on the shelves at the stores. Also, we are out of exclamation points or smiley faces....
  18. In Park's defense, the entire state of Minnesota admired the long double.
  19. The 1991 Twins did indeed start 2-9. The problem with that comparison is that at 0-8, the current Twins would have to go 2-1 over their next three games, which seems unlikely The problem with the football analogy is that the logic is starting to break down more with every loss. If the Twins lost their first 20 games or started something like 3-18, we wouldn't say that it's like a football team starting 0-2. What ashburyjohn said on another thread seemed pretty insightful. Another TD poster suggested that last years blowout games at the start were more of a wake up call than the close games we are playing this year, where we are in every game but just missing. Whatever the case. Starting a season so poorly is a bad sign. Perhaps in years to come we will look back on this and laugh, but at the moment it hardly seems possible.
  20. Buxton should go back to AAA but either Kepler or Rosario can supposedly play CF.
  21. So if the Twins had gotten that sac bunt down, and pushed that runner across the plate, they would have lost 3-1 instead of 3-0. Makes sense now.
