  1. I don't understand the urge to option O'Rourke and keep Milone. O'Rourke seems very good against lefties. Is it because O'Rourke doesn't get shelled by both RHB and LHB equally? Otherwise I agree the next starter to take a shot will be a guy already on the 40 man. Ryan continues to say this will be a short term injury for Perkins.
  2. Because Buxton will be traded? There's no logjam?
  3. I really doubt Ryan is in Rochester to watch Berrios. This is what most people thought late in August last year when Berrios was pitching so well and our bullpen needed so much help, but then Achter and Tonkin got the call instead.
  4. Meanwhile, over in the ex-Twin Spartacus division, Eric Fryer maintains his slight OPS+ advantage over Chris Herrmann, 523 to -55.
  5. From the looks of it, Tonkin, Pressly, and about 8 other guys.
  6. Hate the ragging on Arcia, but like the joke.
  7. Yeah he has all night. Not good. Learning experience I hope!
  8. No, that is still the process of figuring it out. He hasn't even hit his 25th birthday yet.
  9. All he needs now is to be put back at his better position, which is Right Field
  10. Maybe that's why Gardy was brought back. I fully admit I was blind sided by Gardy's return to this organization.
  11. Also blind sided by the sudden realization that you have two good third baseman who both need to play full time at third base! I guess some things just sneak up you?
  12. The only grain of truth to this post is that errors are almost never charged to outfielders. And as I type this a triple is credited to a batter that should have only gotten a double with a one base error charged to Buxton.
  13. I really doubt Sano would feel jerked around if he was put back at third base. He might even start hitting home runs again.
  14. Following the game on MLB today. I think the Twins could improve their chances of winning if they get some base runners. /snark
  15. Well, your preparatory clauses need to be reworked.... I thought it was more likely than not that Gardy would have to be terminated than he would leave of his own volition, and I wouldn't assume he is universally respected (to say nothing of being so universally respected) but I did and do believe he will manage again. Because he said he would. I believe he was a signature away from being the Detroit manager and that whole fiasco. I believe he would be appealing to certain clubs and be successful. However, yes it raises questions at least to me if this is just a golden parachute gig, not that he'd be bad for us to have out in the field for a while. We shall see.
  16. "It was clear at the time that it would be just a matter of time before Gardenhire rejoined the organization. He took 2015 off, and he was in the running for the manager jobs in Washington and San Diego. When San Diego offered him a job in their front office, and he declined, it was inevitable that it was just a matter of time before he would rejoin the Twins." Seth I'm not sure I agree with this. In the press conference, Gardy was pretty firm in the idea that he would manage again. Gardy is a little too polarizing for this to be a great ambassadorial move. This only makes sense to me if Gardy approached the Twins first because he believes it will help him get another manager gig someday soon--there would be nothing wrong with that.
  17. is that you, Eddie?? http://s3.birthmoviesdeath.com/images/made/eddiegaedel_1050_591_81_s_c1.jpg
  18. it was unfortunately a shade before my time
  19. I first heard that joke in 1949, 1955, 1967, 1972, and 1979. * *in Readers Digest
