  1. Rookie mistake, letting this leak before it was final.
  2. The Twins are virtually tied for first place in late July, and Fangraphs is saying there is a 2.6% chance the Twins will win the division. Fangraphs is basing that probability on base runs.
  3. I guess I'm not going to start drinking the Base Runs kool-aid yet. It will match W-L fairly often but there are a lot of weak assumptions built in to it. For example, the bad pitchers in losing games issue.
  4. At first I misread "should currently have 25th best record" to mean "78-84 will be the 25th best record" but he doesn't actually say that.
  5. Weren't those odds pretty close to the odds at the start of the season when people (not everyone) and publications were predicting 90 losses?
  6. From that article. This makes no sense: "At the same time, however, Minnesota ranks 25th in the majors in BaseRuns win percentage (.438), suggesting they’ve benefited considerably from sequencing. Entering Friday, FanGraphs expects the Twins to finish with 78 wins and 84 losses. Overall, the club possesses a 10.6% probability of reaching the postseason according to FanGraphs’ playoff odds — and a 2.6% chance of capturing the division."
  7. If it's Sean Poppen, I am going to burn down the Internet!
  8. Never pass an opportunity for a good* joke *debatable
  9. Looks like Rob Anthony is asking around about Straily. This is good news!
  10. Sure it will be a disappointment if they were to lose in a divisional playoff round, but it will be a hell of a lot of fun to get to that point and something to build on for next year. Also, three other good teams will lose in that divisional round.
  11. At this point, I think any good White Sox player is probably thinking "trade me next, please." Who do they still have?
  12. Maybe there's a trade opportunity that does improve our position to succeed in the postseason and does justify the outlay in terms of future talent. Would you then be in favor?
  13. Who was the outfielder the Twins signed last year, then had second thoughts and said "nah, I'm good" and retired instead.
  14. Not to mention Eaton, Robertson, Abreu, and other guys. What is unknown is why those guys never got it done. That team had as much talent as any team in the division, but were missing that extra something, or something was holding them back.
  15. Good AB by Kepler vs a lefty Lefties not his strength
  16. It might be a while, so I recommend logging on periodically so you don't forget your password.
  17. It would be a great moment for Granite's first ever ball out of the infield
  18. Castro and Grossman do a great job of hitting doubles with no one on base.
  19. Rogers and Kintzler, and then I'm ready to roll with Hildenguy as the third best bullpen guy (That last foul ball notwithstanding)
  20. I've seen that picture photoshopped without the cigar
  21. Where are all the happy posters with funny pictures! We need them now.
  22. And that's why Pressly came in before Hildenberger, I guess.
