  1. Interesting, since it was "a couple years ago" that KC fans hacked the balloting. (Or maybe I should say KC trolls)
  2. Yes. For shame. Also, a skanky dad could send his kid around the stadium after a game and collect up the unused ballots to vote with.
  3. It's nice to finally cheer for a team that's good but slumping, instead of a not-so-good team that has the occasional hot streak.
  4. There is a map floating around. Sano was the solid vote getter for the majority of the nation, except for Ohio. And I suspect it was all very last-minute voting. Like it or not, fans across the country voted for Sano. In any case..........
  5. It would also result in one fan, one vote. Instead of the massive crush of individuals submitting hundreds of votes apiece at the last minute. Sano had a lead of hundreds of thousands of votes very recently. Correct?
  6. In all seriousness, MLB should consider going back to the quaint little punch cards they distributed at ball parks, or mail ins. Come to a game, you get to vote, you feed your ballot into a machine and your vote is counted exactly once.
  7. The silver lining to the injuries of Burdi, Chargois and others, is that if they had been promoted faster like I think they should have been, then the common wisdom would look convincingly like their injuries were a result of being promoted too fast. In fact the major leagues might be a safer environment for players with more and better trained eyes watching over. Just a guess, though. That said, I think out of the healthy AAA guys left, we are pretty close to the end of the promotion line for 2017. Curtiss, maybe. Certainly not Melo at this point after he was DFA'd. I don't know much about Reed. Busenitz and Hildenberger are up, and looks like they might contribute the rest of the way. So, there's that.
  8. The guy who started the 9th had an off day, I guess
  9. Rogers has not allowed 14 of 16 inherited runners to score, or has he?
  10. when has Rogers been worse than Belisle?
  11. Detroit scored six runs off Cleveland in the bottom of the 9th... but Cleveland still won 11-8
  12. Castro had a hot start to 2017, but I'd rather see Gimenez get the bulk of the playing time for now.
  13. My impression is Belisle has either been effective or terrible, kind of like Big Erv (except Ervin is either fantastic or terrible)
  14. Either that or will make a game-saving play in the postseason (assuming he is still around when that happens).
  15. Sure, but what do you think of Sano's fielding?
  16. I agree on Rosario. He was fun to watch as a talented, unpredictable rookie, but it's time for him to harness some of that energy and learn to play smarter.
  17. I've been thinking about this ever since Eddie Rosario came up to the majors. Compare Willingham and Plouffe with Rosario and Sano. Would you rather have players with below average talent who play with solid fundamentals, or would you rather have the highly talented players who play a little erratically at times?
  18. Is this a new keystroke command we don't know about: ctrl+Chief+esc ?
  19. Bummer. They are slumping right now. Get back up and try again tomorrow.
  20. I don't know who the trade partners would be, but Buxton, Rosario, Kepler, Granite can all play center. Not to mention Royce Lewis. There would be another position of true depth to deal from.
  21. Right. It's helpful to put real names to hypothetical trade scenarios. Maybe Falvey has some names from other organizations up his sleeve, but in general, don't expect a team trading for major league pitching to send back major league pitching in return.
  22. Not only that, but Gibson is an excellent fielder. No reason to rush Mauer and send Dozier to cover first when Gibson can already cover that part of the infield.
  23. Not sure I follow. Get in the tournament and see what happens. I have utmost confidence in Santana and Berrios this year, and that someone in the lineup can come up with a timely hit. Next year might be different. If the Twins trade Santana, where will the pitching come from in 2018?
