  1. Agreed Gladden drives me crazy. I think he intentionally does it. He wants listeners to figure things out on their own. He routinely leaves me frustrated.
  2. Great article except I dont buy the statement that Correia's been unlucky. He's been flat out awful. Actually, one could argue he was very lucky in his last start. No way he should still be on this team aug 1.
  3. Don't know what else to say. That was woeful.
  4. Stated to perfection.
  5. Sid had a rough show last night. For the most part, Max handles him pretty well. I'm fine with Sid doing this for as long as he wants. He just needs a little help at this point. I'll miss him when he's gone. Its going to be quite the event when he passes away. I imagine it will be the top story for days, with 100's of his CPF's flying in. I hope Sid gets to see the new Vikings stadium before he's gone.
  6. Reusse explained himself pretty well on the Sports show tonight. He brought up the Arcia minor injury at the end of last year, his 8 day bout with food poisoning this spring, and then the wrist thing. Gardy doesn't put any pressure on these guys to play. They miss large stretches of games with minor stuff that most professionals play through. They're all too comfy. Who wants to play? I completely understand Reusse's frustration, and I applaud him poking fun at them.
  7. Come on people. Outrage over a harmless Reusse tweet is nit picking. Why are people so easily outraged? Most would agree the Twins are a soft organization. I could care less if Reusse pokes fun at them from time to time.
  8. He could always adapt. Thats what great hitters do. Something's gotta change.
  9. I don't think joe has hit many balls this year that would have even reached the green monster.
  10. I remember listening to the Twins/Angels game during a thunderstorm. Tons of static and cracking with every lightning strike. Next thing you know Herb says the roof is rippling and waving and the players ran off the field. Crazy night.
  11. The NBC game of the week and their theme song was magical to me growing up. I haven't heard it for so many years. It gives me goose bumps. Part of the reason 80's baseball was so awesome to me.
  12. He's going to have to figure it out at the major league level, and that would probably be his choice too. I'm sure he'd rather keep adding the service time while he makes the adjustment. If its bad for anybody, its the Twins, because right about the time he blossums as a player is when he'll be eligible for the big bucks. Very proud of him for scrapping the switch hitting. The kid is going to be fine.
  13. Im lucky enough the hutchinson signal is really good. But it was ridiculous to leave WCCO. Those were the days.
  14. And it was his decision. Gardy was surprised. What a shame nobody in the organization couldnt have made this decision much, much earlier. That failure set him back years. All anybody has to do is look at his splits to know this was the right decision.
  15. They need to once and for all put an end to the switch hitting experiment and send him down until he figures it out, however long it takes, and completely change his approach to hitting. Working the count is fine, but this is ridiculous. You have to want to swing the bat.
  16. He'll be fine once the weather warms up.
  17. Threads evolve. I'm not the one who changed the subject.
  18. Maximizing profits is #1 priority. Winning is secondary.
  19. Completely different situation here. The Pohlad's have made their billions elsewhere. Penny pinching with the baseball team, in spite of publicly funded stadium and insane amounts of revenue, is shameful.
  20. Excellent take. For all his deficiencies, Smith wanted to win, and there was plenty of money to go around. Ryan's main objective is to maximize profit for his boss. I have alot more respect for Smith. I firmly believe his desire to spend is what got him fired.
  21. It's a question I'm not sure how to answer. Do you base it on postseason success? In that case, the last 20 years under Ryan have been an abject failure. Do you base it on combined regular season and postseason success? In that case Ryan gets a "C". Maybe even a "D" if you take into consideration Smith was his handpicked successor. On a 1-10 scale where would Ryan's 20 years rank?
  22. As Mike Tice would say "Calm down".
  23. Spot on Top Gun. How could anyone debate this? Take take take take take.
  24. Watching him hit lefthanded is painful. It has set his career back. I dont understand what they are thinking.
  25. Hicks is going to be a great player.......once this switch hitting madness ends.
