  1. After Sano this guy has the next best power. Im excited about him. im definetly going down to ft myers this year to watch him.
  2. Since Meyer only chucked 78 innings last yr and 26 more in AFL my guess is that he is on a innings limit this year. Given Gardy's comments in spring training, despite the logjam of capable bullpen arms in ML and AAA I believe it is May who would potentially force a Pelfrey trade and Meyer would get time in the pen to limit his innings
  3. Believe it or not suzuki has put up his best offensive numbers batting second. Having a professional hitter in front of Mauer should help the offense as the hitter should see a lot of fastballs. In a different thread somebody had posted all of the numbers Suzuki had put up per position in the batting order. If i recall correctly his on base percentage in the two hole was .336
  4. Thanks. For some reason I thought he spent last season at Ft Myers
  5. Am I the only one surprised Adam Walker is starting at Ft Myers? I thought he would be at AA
  6. I was thinking that there was a really good chance this year that by the end of August there is going to be a whole new Twins roster to watch. So I went through the roster and listed each player as well as the probability that they would be traded or released by the end of August. I did this because I do not believe the Twins will be all that good this year (see, well out of contention by July) and I believe that there a lot of players that won't be back next year, the Twins will be promoting players early and often when the current players do not or under perform. This is done with the caveat that any player can be traded at anytime. I look forward to the feedback I will get on my first post. Jared Burton: 40% Traded Kevin Corria: 75% Traded Sam Deduno:60% Traded Brian Duensing: 80% non-tendered then re-signed at the end of the year Casey Fien: 50% Traded Kyle Gibson: 0% Traded Phil Hughes: 5% Traded Ricky Nolasco: 0% Traded Mike Pelfrey: 20% Traded Glen Perkins: 0% Traded Anthony Swarzak: 45% traded Caleb Thielbar: 0% traded Josmil Pinto: 0% traded Kurt Suzuki: 0% traded Jason Bartlett: Released by June Chris Colabello: 0% traded 15% optioned to AAA Brian Dozier: 0% Traded Eduardo Escobar 0% Traded 0% Optioned to AAA Pedro Floriman: 0% Traded 75% Optioned to AAA Joe Mauer: 0% traded Trevor Plouffe: 40% Traded Oswaldo Arcia: 0% traded Aaron Hicks: 0% Traded Josh Willingham: 25% Traded 75% Released in August Jason Kubel: 100% Released in August
  7. I am watching the twins this year for guys like Hicks, Colabello, Arcia and Thielbar. I am also watching to a much lesser degree to see if Dozier repeats the success of last year and whether or not Mauer does his usual thing. One thing I am not paying to close attention to this year is the W-L record which this year will only be good enough to determine where the twins pick in 2015
  8. Colabello and Hicks but ask me again when Meyer makes The Show
  9. Does anybody know if Diamond will continue to start or will he work out of the bullpen?
  10. I am excited go see Hicks play. I think he will do wonderful. At least I hope so. I have high hopes fof him
  11. Im excited for Hicks, Colobello and Gibson. I think Kubel and Bartlett are trade bait. I dont see either one on the roster after July. They eiher play well and get traded or they dont and are replaced. Just my two cents
  12. I was surprised Pressly was put on waivers but more surprised the first team grabbed him. Glad to see Parmelee and diamond clear waivers. I wonder how good diamond would be in relief. If parmelee does well in AAA he can take over for kubel when he gets traded/does poorly
  13. Does this mean Parmelee gets waived in favor of Colobello or does Collobello get optioned and we keep Parms even tho him and Kubs essentiallly bring the same thing to the table?
  14. kudos to twins management to get something out of nothing. it will be interesting to see if Diamond clears. My guess is somebody takes him
  15. So with Diamond being waived....what are the chances that tonkin comes north and Deduno starts and Gibson goes to AAA? I would prefer Tonkin go to AAA and Gibson start howerve
  16. I would take Parmelee bc he doesnt have options and Kubel is on a minor league contract. Personally I think its 6 of one and a half dozen of the other
  17. I wish Worley would have turned out better I feel kinda bad for him. So what does that leave for a AAA rotation? Meyer May, Darnell, Johnson and Gilmartin?
  18. I really dont see why we need him. We hwve Thiebar and Tonkin who might not make the big league roster already.
  19. Once the All-Star game is over, my guess is Escobar, or maybe Romero from AAA
  20. I am okay with the bullpen Nick has listed. I would rather have Thiebar then Diamond, but I would rather have Deduno then Tonkin. If Diamond is horrific in the pen then send him down and if he doesnt clear waivers then oh well, so be it, and bring up Thiebar. If a start is injured/falters, put in Deduno and call up Tonkin. I would rather see Colobello then Kubel, nostalgia aside. Kubel is on a minor league deal so he can be optioned. I would like to keep Parmalee if possible but but then but I think that makes the roster weaker not in just his spot but a couple other spots as well.
  21. The twins possibly have a ton of legit trade bait this year. Corria, Willingham, Duensing, Burton, Fien and Trevor P could all be replaced with players from AAA. Due to the depth of the Twins Minor League System, we could shoot for high upside talent in the lower pools of competition. I am excited to see what the roster looks like in August and who gets traded and who stays. I am also excited for the draft. One could also add Mike Pelfrey to the list if he does well.
  22. Due to the recent acquisitions of Kris Johnson and Sean Gilmartin, I dont believe maintaing the rights of Diamond are as critical as they once were. That being said if he gets put on waivers I would love to see the twins keep him and see what is capable of out of the bullpen. Hey who knows, maybe his fastball would tick up and he could be quite effective. Side note...does Raley have to make the 25 man roster for the twins to keep him or just the 40? Thanks..
  23. Im excited to watch Kyle Gibson pitch for the big club. My questions are what to do with Diamond and who gets the first call if a starter is needed? Meyer? or Deduno?
