  1. yup, and Thorium needs to be fertilized with fissile material anyways. Seems like a logical match for safety and cost.
  2. That’s what happens when you throw BP
  3. 306 and the lead on the Yankees
  4. 400 https://www.mlb.com/video/nelson-cruz-homers-40-on-a-fly-ball-to-center-field
  5. I share your optimism, but maybe not game 1. He’ll absolutely get carried on the DS roster and my guess game 3.
  6. Calling all science nerds! I would really like this community’s help in understanding a complex scientific subject. While politics and energy goes together like peanut butter and jelly, this discussion is not intended to be political. Please refrain from politics. Thorium Molten Salt Reactors have been a concept with extremely limited deployment since the 1950s. One of the first experiments were to make a perpetual flight airplane in-flight fueling became feasible. https://vittana.org/16-big-thorium-reactor-pros-and-cons https://www.zmescience.com/ecology/what-is-molten-salt-reactor-424343/ It is supposedly possible to engineer them safer because there aren’t rods to crack like traditional nuclear reactor. They are supposedly able to be more efficient (less waste to store for shorter periods) also due to the absence of rods. Thorium is supposedly vastly available with enough supply to power our planet for 1000 years. Can members provide better articles to reference? My searches on google were just ok. Why don’t we hear about these? There are several organizations with projects in the works. Is it more science fiction than fact? Shout out to Diehard: since these can fit inside a standard shipping container, can I put one up in my back yard?
  7. it was a pop up on the pitchers mound, the exact same situation could have happened if Arraez were playing 2nd and Astudillo played C
  8. I like the Twins chances at beating the Yankees. History is irrelevant here.
  9. i went back to the replay. It didn’t look good
  10. It’s a winner, but man I hope Arraez is ok...
  11. he’s been a starter, and will be one again. He’s not stretched out right now. There’s not enough time to get him stretched out to 80-100 pitches, so if he’s a “starter” he’s an “opener”. Now I would absolutely be in favor of him getting the first 6 outs or so and having Smeltzer or Thorpe take over.
