  1. I’ve watched it through twice. Very much enjoyed it
  2. Jack Morris’ contract with the Twins was the first in MLB history to include a player opt out. He wanted Roger Clemens money but couldn’t get the length, so instead opted for free agency a year later. Then got Roger Clemens money from Toronto in ‘92, when he exercised his option. Ervin got standard 3rd starter money. Not comparable in the least.
  3. can you expand on why Cleveland would be favored over the Twins? I would be shocked if they didn’t rebuild.
  4. I think the change is to break the opposite way as his slider (and maybe curve, we’ll find out) to pitch effectively against lefties. Whatever that breaking pitch we saw this year was, it was a very good pitch.
  5. Per ESPN’s Buster Olney, Falvey would be a great fit for the Red Sox, but instead is nearing a deal with the Twins to extend him beyond his assumed 2020 deal. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/27806842/source-twins-nearing-deal-keep-derek-falvey-front-office
  6. I’d think Kiriloff is destined for left field, hopefully 2020 sept call up and a fixture 2121 onward.
  7. Who thinks that Falvey’s quote http://twinsdaily.com/topic/35221-falvey-were-going-to-target-impact-pitching/ is directly related?
  8. it takes a lot of people to run a factory supply chain. Engineer/Lab, Quality, supply chain, sourcing, logistics. Those factories probably make more than just MLB and MiLB balls too. Retail, college, high school, softballs. Materials from all over the world.... Even a slight change in the ball would require dozens of people to be involved. Most of them unaware of the aerodynamic properties of a baseball in flight. However with leather being sourced from most likely China but manufacturing in Costa Rica, you could maybe do a production experiment to get balls for the post season if you started in April. 6 months is very fast for a change like that in an experimental fashion, but not impossible. It would be very expensive. This is all to say, Falvine knew of the new baseball for 2019 this time last year. At that point manufacturing for many or all of 2019 was already done. This new change was probably already in the works even then.
  9. Thanks for a great season everyone! It was a blast right to the bitter end!
  10. Castro hasn’t pinch hit for Garver yet for fear of losing his catcher
