    I also hope not, but they are built the same, and if his hit tool doesnt come as we all hope and project, he could be a BJ...........but also hoping for a Eric Davis to Willie Mays to Barry Bonds career, hope we sign him early and for a long time after his first full season at the MLB level.

    Well not quite like Gardy, cuz if it was Gardy he wouldnt come out for the 8th, but let him finish or at least give up 2 baserunners before replacing him, one hit doesnt necessarily mean he is no longer on a roll......gotta roll your eyes sometimes, hope it works out..........he was at 100 so i could understand the 9th.

    I know a person should take the totality of the game, but for whatever it is worth, Meyers had given up 1 run thru 5 innings, and then walked the 1st 2 batters of the 6th inning and was taken out.............So even tho that is the correct line, even tho 4 walks thru 5 innings is too much, at the end of the 5th he was with 1 earned run.

    Get to many likes and TR might read this and actually think that is what we want , and TADA he is ours, I think he is the property of the Giants, maybe we will trade Sano for him LOL

    This is how I like to think of it, lets say you have a REAL ace, he wins 16 to 18 games and a young kid or prospect in the rotation who wins 8 to 10 games.......that is as good as having the likes of 2 Santana's winning 12 to 14 games.......now if you make the playoffs, you have an ace, and if he gets hurt, you werent going to win anyway, better draft pic

    Well I would trade any 1 2 3 or 4 of our prospects other than Buxton and Sano for Hamels........i dont expect it to happen, i just wanted to see what people thoughts were..... I think taking on a big contract is not so bad, better than these 7 and 8 yr contracts that you have to sign , i would rather buy partway into one thru a trade, if it would bring us to the top or close...............and i just threw Hamels out there, maybe there are other ideas..............Also Latos last trade to Marlins only returned 2 prospects, mostly because Cincinnati wanted to get rid of the contract , which wasnt to bad.......and Philly wants to get rid of Hamels contract too, but i would guess they will wait till trade deadline and get the most they can then.

    So no one has to look it up, Hamels contract is 4 more yrs at 22.5 million a yr, plus a 5th yr club option for 20 million with a 6 million buyout, so would be 4 yrs $96 million or 5 yrs $110 million. 31 yrs old this yr, so would take him thru age 34 or 35 if you take up option yr.

    With the talk of the Twins having so many trade options , especially with the pitching, I will PITCH a trade idea involving pitching with what I think would be proper return.......Not that I expect it to happen, but I can dream..........but how about a Cole Hamels(4 more yrs of contract, not too exorbitant in yrs) for Alex Meyers, Trevor May, Jorge Polanco(or add in prospects or subtract prospects as you seem fit) maybe another mid tier prospect..........If we can keep Buxton and Sano, and still have our middle infield intact, we would basically be adding an ace to what could become a pretty good team within that 4 yr window, with an ace that could actually help us win a series.......... Pitching Rotation 2016-2018: 1 Cole Hamels 2 Phil Hughes 3 Ervin Santana 4 Ricky Nolasco 5 Kyle Gibson, with Jose Berrios waiting in the wings. Twins lineup CF Byron Buxton 2B Brian Dozier 1B Joe Mauer 3B Miguel Sano DH Kennys Vargas RF Oswaldo Arcia C Kurt Suzuki and ????????? LF Eddie Rosario SS Danny Santana To me that looks like a pretty decent lineup that could win pitching wise in the short term and hitting wise in the long term, if we can only get them to mesh a yr or 2 would be great.......and with what looks like some decent bullpen help coming too. Ideas? Thoughts? Would this be enough to get a Cole Hamels, or maybe no one would want Cole Hamels???

    I definitely agree with the Dean equation, dont know enough about Diaz, but I think Pryor has a shot at being respectable, but , like many ,I am hoping if after a month or so , if these guys are failing we bring up some of the AA blood

    Dude!!!!!! I want the Twins to be good, but now when i go, the ticket prices are reasonable for good seats even And i use Ticket King cheaper than stubhub and seat geek.

    I guess the biggest thing, is I am wondering what they will do with all the excess pitching, it doesnt seem that they usually release that many players right at the end, but maybe they do and i miss the transactions.

    Under MiLB it shows Thomas to have been released April 2nd from Chattanooga roster.

    Now that we know the Twins 25 man roster, those with the know, probably can tell within a player or two who will be on these rosters, want to give me an educated guess??????? There are sooooo many pitchers, who will make it? Will there be that many cuts or will they DL(hide) alot of people? It seems really crowded for those pitching spots. HELP!!!!!! LOL

    LOL Shane, I just posted on other favorite teams, and mine was the Braves, but I think you might get a chuckle out of it if you read it.......but since we beat the Braves, why the hatred for MY other team?

    I grew up watching WTBS Atlanta on my cable in north central North Dakota, altho also had WGN, but didnt follow the Cubs................So i was born a Twins fan, but became a Braves fan in the mid 70's when i got to see them on TV on a semi regular basis.............So I considered myself equally a Twins fan and Braves fan, then came that fateful 91 postseason, one of the best........i told my friends that since the Twins won in 87, i was going to cheer for the Braves, since I LOVED both teams.........Well......the first pitch was thrown and i was all of a sudden, I was NOT a Braves fan , at least for the World Series ........I still cheered and still follow the Braves, but nothing like I do my beloved Twinkies .............I guess i should have known when i think back on it, when back in the late 70's early 80's when we were REAL BAD, and my hometown decided not to carry them on radio, i would be in my room, listening to a Devils Lake radio station with the radio cracking and barely audible sounds while listening to the Twins lose 90 plus or maybe they lost 100, but i was there as a true Twins fan, and i guess i will always be.

    Hi, i dont post much at all, but i like reading everyones posts and opinions, and I will write one here LOL................I dont think it is that May and Meyer are saviors, but people , including myself want to see what we have, and if it dont work out, we can temporarily replace them with someone else from the Minors with potential, and then also there are always guys in the scrap pile(the Pelphreys, Correias , ect ect) that are available short term, if we need that for a last resort.......with that said, i am fairly optimistic that we can be a close to 500 team............On the Hicks front , i was hoping he would make it and succeed, but he has been given his chance and I dont mind if he didnt make it that we went with a possible platoon system, since Buxton should be here in a year or so, and Rosario possibly too. There is my 2 cents
