Good job Boone. I don't disagree. My hope is May continues to improve and we hopefully see him in the starting rotation sometime in 2014. I'm very concerned with our starting pitching depth in the minors and if it takes some a little longer I have no problem with that. It seems to me we are already well-stocked with relief pitchers.
You're not confusing May with Meyer are you? No way he gets 5-10 starts at the show. As I posted on another tread, about a month ago, Jim Callis said May's path to the bigs is thru the bullpen. I'm just hoping he remains a starter this season.
I just reviewed the new comment policy. Great read. I think we're supposed to be talking about the Twins and not other posters. I appreciate your concern on whether or not I will like it here. I don't much care for Twins bashing, but I do know how to use an ignore list.
I don't know, but would like to see him pitch also. About a month ago Jim Callis at BA said he thought May's path to the bigs was thru the bullpen. Obviously not what need. I just hope he keeps pitching well and remains a starter.
Just in case it does, it appears we are on the verge of earning another high draft pick for the 2014 draft. Would not be surprised if we draft a SS with some pop with our 1st pick.
The Twins searched long and hard for a catcher this draft. I'm not saying he will become Yogi Berra, but I have no doubt this is a solid pick up. My hope is they use the same due diligence next draft, and find our SS of the future.
Respectfully, we are not the Royals, or the Pirates if you will. They changed their 5 year plan every 3 years or so. We have a stable organization which has shown us before they know how to rebuild.
I support Terry Ryan and the Twins way of doing business. BA wrote an article sometime ago that it takes a mid-market team a minimum of 5 years to rebuild. We're ahead of the curve, if for no other reason, because of Buxton and Sano.
You'll get a hernia trying to fit the pieces together to get a winning team. Like another poster said, we have just enough talent available at this time, to keep selling $7.00 beers and $5.00 hot dogs.
Should they mortgage their future now with high priced free agents with long term contracts? Or wait for Sano, Buxton and Co. and mortgage their future with that group? Only a poster would feel you can do both.
