  1. Any idea on why they keep showing them on the back of baseball cards?
  2. Wins and losses are a flawed statistic?
  3. Much more likely to be named Baseball Executive of the Year.
  4. Good info 2wins87 thanks!
  5. Please tell me the batting average is a typo.
  6. That's true. At least the blanket bashers fess up to it when they're wrong.
  7. You're confusing see him pitch in person with judging him. IMHO Ryan made the final judgement.
  8. I think the path they will take with Pressly is to work him into a 7th or 8th inning guy. Great job by our scouts to find him in the AFL.
  9. So am I. I can certainly see him winning the Baseball Executive of the Year in the next few years. Those who have studied the inevitable rebuilding process faced by most organizations over time, are witnessing a master at work.
  10. The eyeball test says they're better defensively than last year.
  11. I dare them to come on this board and say such things.
  12. What's a week or so?
  13. A lot. Surely someone on the board can provide a statistic to show my concern is entirely unfounded.
  14. I see Correia as probably our #1 starter next season. It's one of the toughest jobs in baseball and I sure don't want to hand the ball to a rookie. Let Gibson, Meyer etc. continue their development without the added pressure of facing the other team's ace every time out.
  15. I haven't seen any upset people at the games I went to.
  16. A lot of left-handed starters available. I would be surprised if we traded for anything except starting pitching, but makes sense to me. I think this is Terry Ryan's preferred way of doing business. Good job.
  17. Better to be lucky than good. Thanks for the info.
  18. You're the first poster I've seen who used 5 years. All pitching is a lottery ticket. The low minors is the cheapest and easiest, and IMHO the best way to accumulate quality arms. Somehow I sense you already know this.
  19. If Terry Ryan choses organizational suicide, he has the chips to trade for top starting pitching anytime he so desires. If you want him to retain all his top prospects and spent like a drunken sailor in the free agent market, it's just not going to happen.
  20. Big starting left-handed pitcher in the 4th, signed and projectable, sounds like a good pick to me.
