  1. Right you are, that's why I hesitated to state this. I'm most likely wrong (hope so), it was only a feeling that was probably should have been left unstated.
  2. Most of the teams of the pitchers mentioned are also in the WC race. To acquire any of these pitchers, we need to offer some MLB players that fill their current needs.
  3. Even if it's a fashion statement, Just Yamal wearing the cap could spark soccer fans to also wear the cap & create a lot more Twins exposure. Who knows what it could evolve?
  4. You voiced what I was thinking, but hesitant to say. I was all for keeping Ryan until his last game. Before, I questioned Ryan's response last off-season but was willing to overlook it. But last game, I got the feeling that he was throwing the game because he wanted the Twins to become sellers & be traded or he was being very lackadaisical. Either way, it dictated to me that he should be traded for another Taj Bradley. IMO, we could be better off without him.
  5. I love Houston's glove & his bat has been impressive. IMO, Houston is untouchable. I'd like the Peralta/ Weaver trade possibility but don't like what we give up. I'm willing to give up a Gonzalez & Tait though. They have enough hype to get something back & they are expendable. If Twins sells again, please no more distant prospects.
  6. It has to be disheartening to have your ace put up 6 runs in the 1st 2 innings, in an important game. But let's see if the Twins can come back.
  7. That'd have to be the reason, because Twins have no one close to Lackey to replace him. Making him very untouchable. Tait is very questionable in what kind of catcher he'd turn out to be if he sticks at catcher at all & I have more doubts with Tinney.
  8. I'm looking forward to Prielipp & especially Buxton coming back. Losing 2 out of 3 with the Cubbies w/o Buxton doesn't surprise me.
  9. Prielipp can become a knock-out RP, but he hasn't had much successful experience in the BP, I wouldn't start this point of the season. I'd put him in the opener role & keep him there.
  10. I didn't like last year's sell-off, only the Jax/ Bradley trade made sense, That said, while I'm not for a sell-off, some trades do make a lot of sense.
  11. Twins needed a high-leverage RHP to begin the season. Twins have lost many close games due to the BP, if they had traded for one early we could have been in a good position to make the position. If we trade a MLB player for such a RHP, IMO, we could squeak out a WC spot. IMO, DET will trade Skubal, so they will not be in the WC race. If Twins make a significant trade for a change, they could challenge for the Division.
  12. I like Zoll, he spent time with LAD & has done some good things when he 1st came over. It might take some time but, IMO, he could be much better than Falvey.
  13. Jeffers is having a great season & he's gone next season, Larnach is having a pretty good season, but his defense is still not that good, so place him at DH. Do we then trade Bell? I don't think we can get anything for him. IMO, we can trade Jeffers & Larnach to any competing team that have a surplus of MLB high-leverage RPs yet have a greater need for a catcher & or LH hitting cOFer right now. IMO, that'll improve greatly our chances of making the post season. If by some reason, we falter we can still sell that RP for a greater deal or if he's young enough keep him for next season.
  14. Which option that the Twins choose about Ryan (the four mentioned or extension), IMO, depends some on where Ryan wants & where the Twins at as competing & rotation development,
  15. Twins have lacked in developing catchers since Swanson left in '20. This year they dropped their catching coach (which is good) but I haven't heard really anything about what they are doing there. Prior to Lackey, I wasn't confident in any catching prospect to ever prove themselves to be a good MLB catcher. Independent of Twins' coaching, IMO, Lackey can become a very good catcher. If Jeffers is traded, that leaves only Caratini & Jackson. Who would back them up if one of them goes down, even this season? Caratini has always been a backup; can he take over catching regularly the whole season? Who will become the Twins' 3rd catcher? I doubt very much that Lackey can step in right away to be that 3rd catcher; but hope he can step up to that task if that situation happens latter next season.
  16. The Twins played their best in pinstripes, we have not had much success with nonpinstripes. Bring back the winning tradition, bring back the traditional pinstripes
  17. Many rank catchers high because they have high raw power while striking out a lot & are poor behind the plate & then many don't make it. Then they critize teams for taking a real deal catcher high in the draft, saying high ranking catchers are risky. Lackey is the real deal, Tinny is not. IMO, Tinney doesn't make it, especially as a catcher. Tinney was no where near on my radar. I'd have targetted a SP.
  18. I'm elated, he's the real deal, that fits a real need! It's hard not to be hopeful of the Twins near future!
  19. Morris was great in his role, Zebby & the offense was flat. Twins need to fire up & finish strong before the break.
  20. Jeffers had a record beginning of the season, If you look at Jeffers' record he normally starts out pretty well but always wanes in the 2nd half. IMO, he's not worth the big bucks that Boras will ask or even the 1 year $22M QO while forcing DFAing of cheap Jackson, Because of Jeffers' great beginning, he will draw some interest. I like Jeffers, but I say Twins will trade him.
  21. Sizemore is a big upgrade from the recent past. But Buxton also helped a lot in mentoring the new OFers
  22. CWS are are doing somethings right like focusing on very promising young MLB-ready catchers & getting their young SPs' feet wet by pitching them in the BP, improving their MLB BP while keeping their pitchers healthy & rested, instead of wasting their bullets in AAA. This year, I thought they'd do well but I'm surprised by their success. IMO, they could use some veteran presence. They could falter but still think they could pull off the division title. Detroit will sell Skubal, they are out of it, so is KC. If finally, the Twins get a bona fide high-leverage RP, sooner the better; the Twins have a good chance of passing CLE & possibly CWS & make the postseason. After that, anything can happen.
  23. Mainly because the Twins can't afford the top primary catcher dollars that Boras will demand. It's important that mid-market teams spend their money wisely.
