  1. IMO - it was worth it to go for it, relatively speaking, at the deadline. The players have been given the chance that I think they earned over the first 2/3rds of the season. Unfortunately, the players also haven’t stepped up over the past few weeks since being given new life after Kody’s walk off, The vibe would be a whole lot different right now with, say, 4-5 more wins, which was certainly within reach. 2 walk off losses in Seattle, bad showing in KC, the Milwaukee series, today’s fiasco, etc.
  2. After Kody’s ultimate grand slam, Shelty apparently joked to the beat writers, “That’ll f*^% up your game stories.” Well, Skip…definitely some re-writing going on this afternoon.
  3. I blinked and missed Shelty’s 69-second postgame presser. ☠️💀
  4. Also, when was the last time Buck grounded into a double play? At least a year? Wasn’t even that close either…definitely concerning.
  5. I’m tired, boss. Reminds me of the gut punch walk off loss last year to the Dodgers, just a few weeks later. So, is Buxton going to set the MLB record for fewest RBIs with 25+ homers? IIRC Wallner set the record for fewest RBI w/20+ homers. Tough to watch him come up short time and time again in big situations this year. Curious how the postgame vibes are in the locker room? Yikes… That at-bat by Culpepper though! Wow. Put Martin on the IL. Jenkins time.
  6. Shelty - this is the ghost of Billy Martin speaking: This is your last best chance to flip over the postgame buffet.
  7. What’s Buck’s latest RISP w/2 outs average? 0-2 today. Surely can count on one hand the number of times he’s come through in that situation this season. A damn shame.
  8. Well, I said I’d still be here even when/if the wheels fall off….
  9. Is Morneau really excusing Royce not sliding by pointing out his knee injuries? C’mon, man!
  10. Dean Kremer has a chance to save the season for the second time in a week!
  11. I’ll be at Canterbury Park tonight. Last time I was there, the Dodgers walked us off in the game that probably for all intents and purposes ended the 2025 season. Terrible memory 😭 Do better tonight, fellas! 👊🏼
  12. It's awkward too when it's a long inning like it was with Clemens.
  13. fwiw - the Netflix broadcasters said Shelton told them that Luke will continue being in the outfield going forward.
  14. On top of the bad play, the broadcast team was truly terrible. I mean, I understand the Phillies love considering how the game was going, but still... Hey, let's talk to Derek Shelton about his dad being at the game in the second row, and playing catch with him earlier in the day, and then pan a minute later to a random father and son in the stands.
  15. This game feels like it could/should be 8-1. C’mon fellas…
  16. Even Shelty said “lovingly” yesterday that JB’s swing looks ugly AF at times.
  17. Fortunately (or maybe not), Kody is right: Still a lotta ballgame left. Chip away and let the elite bullpen get to work.
  18. Look, fair is fair and someone has gotta say it: Tristan Gray makes that tag.
