  1. Ugh, Angels choked against Cleveland. Of course, it doesn’t matter unless we start winning games in a row. As expected, one of these teams is going to get hot to win the 3rd WC. Twins probably have to finish at least 20-9 to sneak in there. Probably have to win more like 21, 22. Which…seems unlikely at the moment.
  2. Dan Hayes said that he was writing a tweet from the press box during the inning and didn't catch on right away what had happened. Also, for what it's worth, Dan also said it's not 100% confirmed (though still highly likely) that it was the first immaculate inning in the Twins history. MLB is saying it is though, so safe to say "history" was made.
  3. I declare we kinda need to win this, right? 6 under .500 with 28 games left would require an absolutely electric, epic run to make the playoffs. I mean, frankly, so will 4 under. These past two road trips really did a number on us. Save the season, CP!
  4. Buck has at least been way more transparent about what's ailing him than Mr. Cryptic, Joe Ryan.
  5. I knew this game was lost after reading Nick Nelson's tweet from Monday night: "Nothing like playing the Athletics to get you right. A truly terrible ball club." Nick, you know damn well that we're not good enough to be that cocky. We had to fight tooth and nail to win the series against the A's last month and we'll have to do it again to win the series tonight, even if they are a depleted team.
  6. This looked like a season-ending injury to me. I'll be happy to eat my words, but I don't see this team still being in contention by mid-late September either. Play it safe and bring the kids up.
  7. It would be beautiful to head home with a chance to sweep Chicago and get into first place (or least close to first or sneak back into the third Wild Card). Need the Royals to stay hot this weekend against Cleveland, too, though, hell, if KC keeps winning, they'll be nipping at our heels soon enough. Just win Twins.
  8. We are battle tested! Since July 5 (Yankees series), we have to be the only team in MLB that doesn't have a win of over 4 runs.
  9. I guess the 9th inning justified my decision? 🤣 Sending hugs out to all my brothers and sisters in Twins Territory for staying up through the end!
  10. haha! Yes, I made the initial suggestion that I needed a couple nights off and would come back refreshed for the weekend series (or perhaps Wednesday's game if we have a 2 game winning streak going). She's a huge Twins fan but, well, let's just say she's not quite as emotionally invested as I am. She's someone who could fall asleep with the game on and I just can't hang that way.
  11. My wife and I have mutually agreed to sit out the next two games. The baseball gods have told me I can't watch 8:40 p.m. games and rest easy on a weeknight. Especially with this team. It's for the best. Good luck everyone! What more can be said? Win some baseball games!
  12. If Jackson is sent down, does he have to go through waivers again?
  13. Nice write up, Nick. Trouble is, it’s been “go time” all month and these knuckleheads seem to be stuck in neutral. Probably going in reverse.
  14. Bad baseball, all weekend. Feels like a slog right now to get to game 162. Truly incredible to remember that this team had the 3rd Wild Card spot 48 hours ago. Seems hard to believe we’ll get back to that position again this season. But I thought that last Sunday, too. A 3-3 road trip is still possible! 🤣
  15. Will Shelty’s postgame presser exceed 90 seconds? Stay tuned!
  16. I know Shelty said the other day that addressing the team in these situations is for the manager’s benefit, not the players’, but I dunno, Skip - season is on life support (being kind). Time for a shake up. Wake these guys up!
  17. Twins.TV killing me showing a montage with Buck hitting a homer ☠️
