Today would be a great day for Buxton to break his 2-month home run drought. Preferably with a runner or two on base. He hasn't hit one since his first at-bat of the Dodgers series.
Well, in this case, it's easier for the Astros to talk about it since they vetoed the trade. Shelton seemed to have handled it privately with Larnach, which is about all you can hope for.
Yeah, and when Royce was sent down in the spring, Morneau cited Lewis bunting in a very similar scenario as a clear sign that he wasn't comfortable at the plate. 🤷♂️
It's such a strange time for Larnach to have such a prolonged slump. You'd think the guy would've relaxed at the plate knowing he's not going to be moved for the final two months of the season.
Seems he's sealing his Twins fate for 2027 though.
Since the Seattle series just before the deadline, when he had 2 homers with trade rumors swirling around, Larnach is 4-36, .111 average with 1 RBI/ 1 walk. Yikes!
Buck is 7 for 53 since the All Star break. 1 RBI, 1 XBH, 0 HR. Absolutely brutal at a crucial moment in the season. Gotta be one of the worst stat lines in the game post-ASB.
TD needs to do a deep deep on this pronto so he snaps out of it;)
Our inability to add on to leads in the middle-late innings has been a recurring theme all year. Bit us badly last night. Both Buck (of course) and Larnach also had two out RISP opportunities that were for naught.
The Royce bunt attempt was totally baffling. Drive the ball!
Desperately need a Bailey Ober legacy game today.
