  1. I was driving a U-Haul towing my car...and had some fool with a death wish who was in oncoming traffic, decide to pass..and there wasn't enough room. I made it onto the shoulder so as to avoid a head-on collision but it was pretty dicey.
  2. So far, the Twins are the Salvador Dali of the baseball world. Like Dali's paintings, the Twins seem to be just a bit off.
  3. Remember, the games in April don't mean as much as the games in September. Or is it "It's a long season and it's only 4 games and no team is going to win them all." On the up side, Twins pitching is holding the opposing team to 4 runs. Definitely an improvement over the start of last year. The down side? Opposing pitching is keeping the Twins under 4 runs.
  4. I have to give KC credit. They keep coming.
  5. Suzuki hit a triple? What's next, dogs and cats sleeping together? Mass hysteria?
  6. I had fun telling some Dodger fans today the reason the Dodgers lost yesterday, after sweeping the Padres, is that the Dodgers finally played a real baseball team.
  7. Abad's not so bad. Although, I was initially thinking "bases loaded and Morales at the plate..what could possibly go wrong?"
  8. I would assume you're referring to KC's pen?
  9. Win or lose, watching baseball is still a fine way to spend a Friday evening.
  10. Sano is looking more competent in the field than at the plate.
  11. Side note: Possibility of a rain-out in CA. Dodgers/Giants.
  12. I prefer curmudgeon, myself. By the way, my grandsons, privately, referred to me as "Grumpa." As soon as I heard that, I started signing all of their birthday cards "Grumpa." I plan on signing their cards with that name as long as I can.
  13. Hah, at least we have freezers now. Ageist.
  14. My ex-wife and I did not have a refrigerator when we were first married. We put everything in an ice chest on the back porch. Did I mention we were married in November, in MN?
  15. I had Dozier 0-567 in last nights thread. So much for that prediction.
  16. Only on a Twins thread can we have an extended discussion about cell phone garbage. Next thing you know, it'll be about breathing through eyelids or some such. (I wonder why Susan Sarandon popped into my head when I mentioned "eyelids?") I blame RiverBrian.
  17. As long as Sano makes the plays he's supposed to, I think he'll be fine. I'm expecting competence, not brilliance. As Sano gets more experience, I also expect a couple of runners regret trying to stretch a single.
  18. KC and SF meet again in the Series. KC wins back-to-back championships. (I will be in Laughlin next month and will put money on the Twins, KC and SF) I think the Twins take another step this year toward a 2017 Series win. Yeah, that's right, the Central owns the Series for three years running. (considering my abilities as a procrastinator are on par with Punxsutawney Phil, although considerably less entertaining, take it for what it's worth)
  19. Could have been worse. Oh wait, 1 run, 10 runs still a loss. Never mind. However, having to wait an extra day for the next game is irritating.
  20. 78-84--Nolasco is released as is Abad. Plouffe is traded for a big piece of the 2017 World Series team. Milone is traded to this years World Series team for a top prospect. Kepler debuts and remains. Duffy and JO Berrios come up to stay.
