  1. Today, the Twins take on the Tigers, managed by Ron Gardenhire. After the series sweep in Toronto, I thought I'd look into starting pitching numbers, specifically, wins. Currently, the Twins are 23-12 with Twins starters having collected 20 of those 23 wins. Twins have decent starting pitching. Who'd a thunk it? For some reason, it seems me it's sort of important that Twins starters are picking up the majority of the wins. And, as we all know, numbers don't lie. And now, for some things to think about: 1. Berrios 2. Odorizzi 3. Perez 4. Gibson Pitching for the Twins: Jake Odorizzi Pitching for the Tigers: Tyson Ross. 5. Play ball!
  2. Yawn. Another win. And another series sweep. Will the torture never cease? darn well better not!
  3. They have a bird hunting license, I guess.
  4. Hard to believe this is the same Toronto team that beat the Twins like a drum a few weeks ago.
  5. I thought it was only an issue if there was a game to be played the next day?
  6. Looks like a decent matchup for Gibson, too.
  7. Sano would certainly help with that, then.
  8. Almost seems like Perez figured out his career was on the line and he needed to get things together or else.
  9. Don't care where he goes, because he seems to like giving up home runs to the Twins.....
  10. I really hope you're right. It's that with Sano, I admit I'm down on Sano, so, I hope he's finally figured it out and gotten his act together. Though, a case can be made that two of the last three years have been lost years for this team which may not have helped Sano's development.
  11. Hmm, maybe the Toronto "Ace" is a third starter, at best, on another team?
  12. I think Sano has a short leash, however. The team has not missed either his bat or his defense.
  13. We're going to need a bigger blog to answer that question....
  14. By the way, what is with these weird start times?
  15. Disclaimer: Neither the author, nor Twins Daily, is responsible for the fact that Minneapolis is further north than Toronto. Please complain to those who, for some reason, found it necessary to develop a method for navigating the 7 seas of the earth. Such navigation was necessary, in order to avoid falling off the edge of the earth and avoiding those areas marked, "Here There Be Monsters." Thank you and please remember to return your seats to the upright position before landing. -Not the management of anything.
  16. The Twins move on to Toronto, hopefully putting behind them what was a miserable experience, all the way around, in the Bronx. Fortunately, the weather in Toronto should be excellent, with deer prancing about the meadows of Canada. And, Canadians should have discarded their traditional snow suits for something a bit classier: Now, deep thoughts, courtesy, RB: 1. Suppose a wall in right field that is 316 feet from home plate. 2. A ball clears the wall by 6 inches. 3. Another ball clears the wall by 200 feet. 4. Does the ball that clears the wall by 6 inches count less than the ball that clears the wall by 200 feet? Pitching for the Twins: Martin Perez Pitching for the Blue Jays: Marcus Stroman 5. Play Ball!
  17. Good grief, I hope I'm as lucid as Kaat when I'm his age. Decided to look it up and Kaat turns 81 this year.
  18. Good morning! (it's still morning where I live. Oh, and get off my lawn!)
  19. I think not having Astudillo's bat Friday cost the team. Glad to see the Twins win one. Maybe even get out of NY with a series win.
  20. I think last night showed how much Astudillo is missed from the lineup. I was disappointed in the game, understatement of the year, because I thought the Twins would go into New York and pound the Yankees into dust. Today is another day and, hopefully, the Twins regroup.
