The NFL lost me years ago. I got tired of the thuggery off the field and the showboating on the field. I understand celebration but it's gotten way out of hand. And I used to be a huge Vikings fan. No more. I vastly prefer baseball. I'll watch the baseball playoffs and the series this year with great interest. I really would like to see Houston and the Dodgers go at it.
If Vargas was getting the job done, Grossman would have been gone a while ago. I still believe the FO was waiting for someone to step up and show they were ready. Hasn't happened, so we still have Mr. Grossman.
The Twins were out of it when Dozier went on his tear last year. The Twins are in it this year and Dozier looks to be heating up. It could be an interesting ride down the stretch.
Mr. Dozier may be frustrated but the team had more more than a few chances to show they were worth making moves for and they failed. Too many runners left on base in winnable games was, I think, the difference between buying and selling.
I believe Bill James did a lot of numbers crunching and it turns out the sac bunt strategy isn't really all that effective when it comes to run probability. But, old school managers still believe in it. See here: http://www.billjamesonline.com/stats33/
