    I did. Live within a few miles of several faults. The San Andreas is about 50 miles from where I live. No big deal. Besides, not only does the Midwest have Tornadoes, snow, ice, blizzards and mosquitoes, there's also the New Madrid fault. You know, the one that made the Mississippi flow backwards. Out here, it's earthquakes, fires and the occasional mud slide. I think we're ahead of the game.

    This is where I have to give Bert his due. Years past, if I remember Bert correctly, the AL used their own umpiring teams and the NL used their own crews, which gave teams a chance to learn what an ump would and wouldn't call. From what I understand, it's now sort of a toss-up as to which umpiring crew will work a game on any given day.

    It isn't the 5 runs, per se. Rather, it's the 5 runs by the fourth and stop scoring that seems to be more of an issue.

    I think the only reason Grossman is still with the team is due to Vargas and Park not getting the job done. Grossman has his shortcoming but the ability to take quality at-bats isn't one of them.

    Summer Meme: Every summer the teens and millenials create a new summer "meme" that everyone copies and posts on social media. 2 years ago it was the ice bucket challenge... Last year it was flipping a half full water bottle on to a table. This year? The "drive-by dunk" where you find a home with a basketball hoop and dunk it. We don't get why this is a cool thing to do! Does that mean we're no longer HIP, now, with it, and wow anymore? What did you do in the summers to pass the time? Let's get a win Twins! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- So far this year, I've terraced the side of the front yard, planted several bushes and trees, replaced a fence post or three, installed two water heaters, put in a new faucet and installed a Garage Door Butler. tm edit: After looking at my list, I now realize where all my weekends have gone this year.
