It feels like if the Mariners score here the Twins are in big trouble especially with Munoz on the mound. Then again, we all just saw Clemens and Lewis deliver walk-offs from behind.

Twins have an extra bullpen arm today because Matthews was sent down corresponding with the Minter move. This might prove important down the stretch today.

I know it worked out, but I don't like the move. Surprisingly, there is actually a higher run expectation with a runner on 2nd and nobody out then a runner on third with one out. Fangraphs says expected runs with a guy on 2nd nobody out at 1.12 and just 0.86 with a runner on third and 1 out.

Shelton with Minter today is like a kid who gets a new toy. He uses it once and then stops using it because it might get beat up.

Minter likely will go out for the 7th inning, but he could still get the win.

Prielipp doesn't seem right today. The Twins will likely need a lot of offense to pull this one out.

Marek Houston has hit at every level they have put him. He seems to have mastered AA as well. It is really nice to see Dasan Hill have a good start. I wouldn't trade him for a rental reliever, but anything else I would be open to and this start might have increased his trade value a bit. Also nice to see Tait homer.

Source: All 26 members of the Minnesota Twins active roster have been arrested for violating Clause 3 in section 47c of the Minnesota state lawbook that bans the 2026 Twins from having a record above .500. The source also states that new acquisitions AJ Minter and Dean Kremer will be detained when they cross the Minnesota state line. Because the Twins were not in Minnesota when the crime was commited, Minnesota governor Tim Walz has agreed to allow Tom Pohlad to post bail in order to have all 26 players sprung for game in time for Saturdays night game. The estimated bail is north of 15 million dollars. Tom says having to post bail will not affect his aggresive buying trade deadline strategy.

Fun fact about AJ Minter per Baseball Reference. He was originally drafted out of high school by the Tigers as a 38th round pick in 2012. He elected not to sign and attended Texas A&M. He was then drafted in the 2nd round by the Braves in 2015

Minter is a lefty so it might be Funderburk if they don't want to carry three lefties.

It might just be a depth move. I wouldn't be shocked if he starts in AAA and gets called up if there is an injury.

I like the trade. He is not going to blow you away which is why they were able to get him for a lottery ticket in DSL. It is a low-wattage move, but they did get an established major league pitcher at the deadline. If nothing else he does provide depth for the rotation in the case of injuries. Good start but hopefully another starter is coming before the trade deadline. Go Twins.

Kremer is under team control until 2027. He has been pretty bad this season, but he did accumulate 2.2 WAR last season. It is definitely a depth move.
