Ober definitely needs to be retained for 2026. There are a lot of questions about his performance and health, but the upside that he showed in 2023 and 2024 is hard to replace. 2026 might be his last chance with the Twins. If he does not perform in 2026 he will probably be non-tendered or traded away. I still believe in the upside, but he is one of the players with the most to prove in 2026, and if he doesn't step up, there are a lot of pitchers waiting in the wings for his rotation spot.- 28 replies

McLean's 95th percentile outcome is a playoff caliber one or two in a big league rotation. You already have that in Joe Ryan, so why would you trade him away for a prospect who might turn into Joe Ryan. You might be right in that the Mets won't be willing to give up much more for Ryan, but if that is the best we can do, I see no reason in trading him.

Nowadays teams rarely trade away their top prospects. Deals like the Juan Soto to the Padres deal just don't happen anymore. If the Mets would be willing to give us Mclean along with Benge or Williams, I would jump on it, but I don't think that the Mets are going to offer that.

I tend to lean towards picking a college pitcher with the Twins early draft pick. The potentiol to have an impact starter like Misiorowski or even Yesavage for the Blue Jays up within a couple of years is too much for me to pass up. Misiorowski has elite stuff, and could very well be a generational talent.

After the year, Bailey Ober had in 2025, I'm not sure how many teams would be interested in acquiring him. I like the idea of extending Jeffers, and signing Vazquez to a one year deal. Theilbar and Couloumbe are names that are interesting as veteran bullpen arms. I would also look into acquiring former Twin Taylor Rogers or his brother Tyler Rogers. This model has the Twins signing a lot of former Twins in Theilbar, Coulombe, Vazquez, and Santana. I appreciate the write-up. -

Dodgers learned their lesson with Snell. Letting Yamamoto try to finish it off.

This is a similar storyline to Game One of the ALCS. In that game George Springer hit a leadoff home run off of Bryce Miller on the first pitch, and Miller shut out the Blue Jays from then on. Today, Jackson Chourio hit a first pitch leadoff bomb, and Yamamoto has shut out the Brewers since.

Now if Robo-Skipper 5000 was managing, Peralta would have been out of the game earlier, and never would have given up the home run. Just saying.

Dodgers offense is looking great. It's hard to imagine anybody beating them especially with how good their rotation is.

Wow. Billy Amick is 0 for 5 with five strikeouts and two walks. That sounds like a little league stat line. Winokur also has five strikeouts. Hendry Mendez is an exciting bat. He has great contact skills. He has a high ground ball rate, but that could be one of the things that he is working on in the Fall League.

As of now Roch Cholowski is the clear number 1 overall pick. Granted, a lot can change between now and July, but as of now if the Twins miss out on him, I would prefer they pick up an elite college pitcher who can quickly ascend to Majors. Cam Flukey from Coastal Carolina and Liam Peterson from Florida are both of interest to me if the Twins aren't picking number one.

That's a needed insurance run for the Brewers. Both teams are running out of relief pitchers, so it would be a problem for both teams if this goes to extras.

Just checking back in, Misiorowski has been great in the postseason despite struggling in the second half of the season. The Cubs have really leaned in to Theilbar this postseason, and this series especially, and he has produced. I know that a lot of Twins fans have bad memories with him, but he could be a good add on a one year deal to add a veteran to a bullpen that will need some help.

Brewers/Cubs game 5. I'll be cheering for whoever wins this game over the Dodgers, but I'm rooting for the Brewers today.

I think that Bailey Ober needs to be on this list. He was unpitchable in much of the season despite coming into the season with very high expectations. He was the pitcher that the Twins were going to hang their hat on, as someone they had developed into a number two starter, but a 5.10 ERA, and a 1.30 WHIP is not what was expected at the beginning of the year, or what you want from anything other than a number five starter. To be completely honest with you, I had forgotten that Miranda had even appeared on the Twins this season which shows how much he has fallen from relevance for the Twins.

You have to keep him. He is one of the only semi-proven bullpen arms you have. Building a bullpen will be hard enough even with keeping him. Funderburk and Sands are the two main pieces right now in the bullpen.
