  1. It's really hard to make a warranty claim on those, too. They always say you used it for evil instead of good, which voids it. At least that's what I heard.
  2. Where did Josh Willingham learn to run?
  3. and mighty Rickie has struck out. I couldn't believe he took that pitch with two strikes that was high and outside. He definitely could have touched it by only stepping on the plate a little bit.
  4. And any problems you have with the ladies taking up your time, too.
  5. Especially if you have halitosis.
  6. Well, Morneau didn't hit a home run, but at least he didn't hit a grounder to second to end the inning. Let's win this one. The Riverbrian can turn his telekinesis toward something else, until tomorrow's game.
  7. we got ryan braun out with runners on base!!!!!
  8. Halitosis. Definitely halitosis.
  9. I liked Morneau better when he hit home runs once in a while. Not that I don't appreciate the artistry of grounding out to second, but still.
  10. Inning? What inning? Gardy's already filed the paperwork for a do-over with Angel Hernandez.
  11. Yeah, but he thinks he's hit 20. Did you see him on the one Hicks caught? He hit it, admired it, and started jogging for a few steps before it occurred to him it might not be an upper-tank shot. I do enjoy that guy, I gotta say.
  12. Wow, the Ghost of Aramis Ramirez got a hit. Yikes. Isn't it time for him to go on the DL again soon?
  13. The Brewers' broadcasters said he's trying deer antler spray. I guess it works.
  14. Wow, I forgot how much I enjoy home runs when the Twins hit them. It's been so long. Go Twins! I would say that Hicks HR would have comfortably left Target Field too.
  15. Let's hope Skittles work a lot better for Buxton than they did for Beasley.
  16. It's always interesting to see these marginal players who have great first games in a new setting. Valencia, Delmon Young, now Joe Benson just in the last couple of weeks. Adrenalin works, I guess. Eventually water seems to hit its natural level, though. Delmon is at .211 with his trademark defense.
  17. Hisle was a good defensive outfielder and a very good hitter for a few years. He had a rotator cuff problem that turned him into a DH. One of my favorite players from those hard-hitting teams. Bostock, Carew, Hisle were fun to watch.
  18. The baseball draft really is fascinating, with the top-pick busts and the not-too-infrequent late picks who turn out to be very good players. Then you've got the frequent college pitchers who end up with arm trouble. Quite a crapshoot. I would dislike Pedroia a lot less if he were a Twin, that's for sure.
  19. I'm not a big defender or critic of the Twins training staff (primarily because I don't claim to be an expert about training), but I have some experience with concussions. They are too hard to diagnose to make complaints about this. What looks like a concussion can fade away quickly, and what seems to be a small issue can linger a long time. I think what we've learned about concussions is recent years is largely that we didn't know half as much as we thought we did. Being conservative here makes sense. And we aren't exactly keeping Barry Bonds off the field here, either.
  20. Yeah, we could have brought Gibson up instead of Walters. However, I want to see Gibson succeed in a Twins uniform for 10 years. If he isn't ready, and the cost is a minor league outfielder who's been a wreck for two years, I'm willing to pay that price. I'm new to the board here, but it seems like a lot of you start out every discussion by assuming Ryan is an idiot, and making arguments to support that out of every decision made. I think this one is a stretch. I don't support it as a great move, but the criticisms seem a little overblown to me. But whatever.
  21. Waivers are in reverse order of records, right? I thought that meant that teams with records worse than the Rangers had first shot at waiver claims.
  22. Twenty teams or so refused to pick him up off waivers, so it's hard to imagine they could have gotten a player with much up side for him.
  23. Oh man, I hope the Hammer Heats Up for the rest of the series, too.
  24. Plouffe would have gotten that ball down the line...maybe.
