  1. Head's up baserunning by Morneau!
  2. OK, let's hit a grounder that can go through Siriaco's legs next. He's already made errors to both sides on consecutive batters, let's keep trying him.
  3. Dare I ask what you drank if your quarter hit the target?
  4. Whew. Salty swung at ball 4 in the dirt and the Twins head back to the dugout. Hitting shoes on, boys.
  5. I would love to see some kind of graphic on close pitches. Buckhollz got most of them, the Twins very few. Just as I type that, Duensing got a called strike to Saltalamachia that was way, way more outside than the ball four pitch to the previous batter. What's going on?
  6. Crap. Pedroia hit a 23-hopper through the infield. Two on and Mr. Ortiz at the plate. Fortunately, here comes Gardy. Turn up the music- we're going Duensing.
  7. Hey, Florimon didn't strike out! That's after airmailing the throw to the plate. The Twins are lucky Mauer could even catch that ball, much less make an attempt at a tag. Another weak day in the life of Pedro Florimon, Major League Ballplayer.
  8. It's a good thing Worley can field his position. He's getting plenty of chances.
  9. Yeah, that double from Hicks was really hit hard. Hopefully it starts something.
  10. I don't know if Arcia is a good bad-ball hitter, but he is sure a bad-ball swinger. Yikes.
  11. I really hate to distract everyone, but Worley gave up a leadoff double there and got out of the inning pretty easily. Cue Theme from Deliverance.
  12. That called third strike on Dozier was a joke. The ball looked a couple inches outside. I'm not sure if Hicks broke back, but whatever happened he definitely did not get a good break on that ball.
  13. Let's hear it for Casey Fien and the Twins Bullpen.
  14. Top of the ninth tied. Let's go, boys.
  15. Wow, that was close. The Indian's TV announcer had a complete Bremergasm there.
  16. True. I guess I'm thinking he would be more comfortable hitting at first, and that it might get easier for him while playing outfield. You could easily substitute "hoping" for "thinking" there.
  17. OK, who expected Roenicke to pitch this well? Not me.
  18. I'm more optimistic about Parmelee, partly because I think he's playing out of position, but I would sure like to see both do well. We could use the help. Gardy's not having trouble finding ways to let Arcia hit. Nice to see.
  19. Please remember, never use your powers for evil.
  20. Yeah, that's what I'm hoping. Gotta like his strike zone judgement right now. I don't think he's afraid to swing, I think he's got a really good eye.
  21. And another walk for Hicks. Why don't people throw him a strike on 3-2???
  22. The Sox need Escobar because Beckham broke his wrist. I've seen Beckham play a lot, and I don't know why he's playing in front of Escobar anyway.
  23. Phil Rogers, Chicago Tribune baseball writer, had an item in his column yesterday about this. "Liriano made 11 starts for the Sox, with a 5.40 ERA. The Sox were 5-6 in those starts, including a 1-4 September record as their lead in the AL Central disappeared...And it cost the White Sox two players they could use." Your Morning Phil: Liriano, Gregg, Dunn - chicagotribune.com
