  1. Hey --I am not sure that is appropriate -- this is a a family friendly webpage, OK, maybe not a functional family, perhaps a bit more like the Adams Family or the Bundy Family - possibly the Simpsons pre-2000 -- ok maybe that was appropriate for this webpage.
  2. I am not sure an English teacher would find a lot of comfort reading our threads.
  3. It is weird to think by the time the Great Gazoo visits in the future that of people here today, only Sid and Abe will be here to greet him.
  4. I just noticed on of the Abe Vigoda posts that he was in his early to mid-50s when was on Barney Miller. That is not that far away from me chronologically. I think I am going to make sure I never look into a mirror or see my reflection again. I am not quite ready to see my inner Vigoda.
  5. I was going to make some comment about adding the Olson Twins, but they have probably been off of Jared's radar for a good 15 plus years.
  6. The fact that you are periodically checking this is either kind of touching or kind of creepy. http://www.freakingnews.com/pictures/105000/Abe-Vigoda-Not-Dead-105262.jpg
  7. Abe Vigoda is still alive?! I just watched a couple of Barney Miller reruns earlier this week (had not seen the show in years). It has aged well, but wow, were there a lot of references that had gone over my head when I watched it as a kid. There were a lot of adult themed references that the writers cleverly and subtly worked in that would just be out there now. In some ways writing has gotten lazier for today's sitcoms (now I sound as if I am about as old and cranky as Abe and Sid - when I was young they knew how to write sitcoms...).
  8. I originally read the title could WARNE be replacing Pelfry, and thought I did not know he could pitch, but it is worth a try. I am kind of disappointed this won't be happening.
  9. It would have been a shame to blow a game where you had a 4-0 lead against Chris Sale.
  10. Is Hawk holding up OK? Dumb question - I am sure he is the being cool, objective, professional and lending his broadcast a confident grace.
  11. I know there is a lot of criticism of Mauer - and understandably so - but he has actually been pretty good in some clutch situations this season. I know people were discussing they would rather have Plouffe than him, and there are reasons why that would make sense, but I still would rather see him in a clutch situation (but I am a Mauer apologist).
  12. There is a regular poster here who used to think largely out of the left side of his brain -- some doctors wanted to remedy that with some ill-advised brain surgery. He somehow survived -- but you can tell from his posts that something is not quite right with his mind (ok - not right at all). I will give the person some privacy and not say who he is, but he might be a moderator. Also a cruel, but true story,
  13. Not as hard to believe -- he once hung upside down as the undead haunting ball fields everywhere.
  14. Leaked footage from last year's event: http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/11114/111142328/4390434-tumblr_lrx8zegigg1qhvcg0.gif
  15. Whew .... It was kind of cool to hear on the radio how active the crowd seemed tonight. It is definitely nice to hear true excitement from the fans going into September.
  16. I am done trying to make any predictions about this team this year. Now that Brian has explored Hamburger Helper and Hungry Man, I am looking forward to his future review of Ramon noodles. I am having a lot of college memories.
  17. I think Hungry Man vegetables have a half life of about 50 years, so you have some time.
  18. Hidden camera at RB's house. Target Field should really get these for next year. Bummer that was foul....
  19. As if this is the first time you have had problems being pried from a euphoric drug.
  20. I am hoping it really is Twinsnorth49 (as long as I never meet him in a dark alley).
  21. The line-up is to lull the Astros into a false sense of security. They will not have the proper adrenaline rush, play sub-par, and the rest will be history. And to help people relax and not worry about it, they can still make the decision to pinch-hit Hermann later in the game if necessary.
  22. With these classic jokes it is like Bob Hope never died. Chief - didn't you help him get his start?
  23. I admire your optimism - I wish I could be that confident the pen would hold that lead.
  24. and somehow he would work in the Olson Twins. Dahli Lama -- nibbler -- Olson Twins -- I think that would have been the picture that would end up shutting this site down.
  25. You say this into a mirror three times and Gardy appears with Punto and Rick Anderson.
