    Not to state the obvious, but that news about Justin is depressing. Hopefully this is just a relatively short set-back and nothing that is going to plague him for years, esp. with the young kids. Semi-off topic - I know there has already been some coverage of what ex-football players are experiencing, but I wonder if in about ten years we are going to find out that it is much worse than originally reported (or because of the larger size of players, more and more players are dealing with permanent repercussions).

    I think a start would be a subtle, gentle suggestion of counseling, or inquiring whether someone has stopped taking his medication, and then get more blunt if necessary.

    Yes - must have been in the same class. It was much easier to drink my freshman year than my sophomore year, because it took about a year before they really started to enforce it.

    My community band made a diplomatic trip and played a concert in Northfield. I felt that greatly accelerated opening relations and re-establishing trade between the metro area and Rice County.

    This is going to be a major blow to the North Dakota tourist industry - losing one of their premier residents. I am excited we are actually playing someone different. It feels like we have played the same few teams over and over again this season. I would not mind going awhile without seeing the Tigers again.

    I am going to go out on a limb and say this is the first time there has been a picture of Mr. Bubbles, Mr. Clean, and a homicidal Mr. Whipple (you knew from those commercials he was this close to having a psychotic break) holding the head he just tore off of Mr. Hackett's body..

    Work in the picture of Mauer and Dozier hugging with Mr. Whipple, Mr. Bubbles, and Mr. Clean -- then it might get a little homoerotic (although a good clean homoerotic).

    Do you really want him to do something that might alter his one-of-a-kind artistry? Think of all of the great writers of the past whose best work might have been lost had they not been a little off kilter. Sometimes you need to sacrifice mental and/or emotional stability for great writing.

    I first read this as Jessica Hahn and was wondering -- what would Jessica Hahn have to do with the Twins game, but then remembered who had written this post and there would probably be a connection when using RB logic and thinking (but alas it was not about Jessica Hahn).

    Wait -- the Bob Newhart/Prince/Siamese cat thing actually happened?! I woke the other morning thinking I must have imagined it in some sort of lurid fever dream.

    I don't think of you as old exactly, but more of a pioneer -- someone who is probably studied by kids in their History of Sports Reporting classes. Someone who perhaps saved his first sports article on a floppy disk. A valued relic who has a wealth of history and memories of distant times. The Sid of his medium.
