Everything posted by Mr. Brooks

  1. I haven't suggested cutting Cron. My suggestion would be to keep both, for now.
  2. You don't have to convince me.
  3. I meant where he'd be for this contract. His earlier career does little for his next team. As posted by someone else, he's topped just 1.5 WAR once in the last 4 years.
  4. Upon further research, it sometimes does, and sometimes doesn't. If the runner has already left for the next base, it counts as a caught stealing. If they haven't, it doesn't.
  5. That's far too late if he continues to OPS north of .950.
  6. For future reference, on what date will it no longer be too early?
  7. Assuming 3 meals a day, Tiger has eaten 15,351 meals between major wins.
  8. I think getting picked off does count as a CS.
  9. Longest drought between major wins ever. His kids were 0 and not yet born last time he won a major. Today they were there to greet him off 18. What a moment. Have never seen that much authentic joy from Tiger. Sometimes you have to lose everything to appreciate an accomplishment like this.
  10. I might throw down a dollar on Gilly, just in case they go for the epic troll job.
  11. Yeah I put 10$ each on the night king, john & Daenerys' baby, and Arya. Considering throwing another 10 down on Tyrion while I can.
  12. Yep, Tiger is in the zone right now. I don't see any threat of a collapse.
  13. Greens are super soft.
  14. Tiger all alone at the top with 3 holes to go.
  15. 5 way tie at the top. Might be the tightest Masters finish I've ever seen.
  16. Cantlay with the eagle to take the lead, 4 way tie for 2nd, all one stroke back. This is shaping up to be an exciting finish.
  17. Woods with a share of the lead through 12.
  18. Very well said. Where our budget "should" be is a legitimate debate. But the fact is that we have a budget, and as long as we do, a contract like that to a solid, but not spectacular relief pitcher is not a good allocation of it, IMO.
  19. Correct. Ryan Suter is the best example I know of a hockey player who has an instinct for avoiding violent collisions.
  20. Just realized I totally omitted Ray Donovan, which should be in the 9-11 range. Might be Jon Voight's best work, which is saying a lot.
  21. He had no chance of catching it because he took a poor angle and poor technique at the wall. That ball was definitely in his range though if he plays it better.
  22. Tiger and Fineau in the final group today. Koepka one group behind. Kicks off early with threesomes instead of pairs to try to finish ahead of storms. Tiger wasted too many prime years to catch Jack, but I think he's playing well enough now that he'll win one or two more. I didn't think he'd win another major.
  23. May 11 is the makeup double header.
  24. Seeing that you have The Shield in your top 5, I can practically guarantee that you'll love The Wire. The Wire has everything that makes The Shield great, except on steroids. Super gritty, intense, real, nothing sugar coated. It doesn't have a single stand out actor like Michael Chiklis, but it makes up for it with an excellent ensemble cast. Most of it is based on real street life, as it was written/show run by a long time Baltimore crime beat reporter. Probably what makes it great though, and what separates it from The Shield is that it doesn't take sides. It portrays the police POV and the criminal POV equally neutrally, portraying neither as "good" or "bad". EDIT: Michael Kenneth Williams as Omar might be that one stand out character. He steals every scene he's in.
