  1. What happens if they make the playoffs? Buxton never plays because they will be facing really good pitchers? I don't have a problem with many decisions Baldelli has made. I have a big problem with Buxton sitting the day before an off day.
  2. I don't agree. With 4 days off between starts, I don't really believe that running hot or cold is actually a thing for starting pitchers. Just variation amongst their capable range that sometimes in small sample sizes looks like a trend.
  3. I hope they aren't using the very small sample size of their last few starts to make the decision.
  4. Unless I'm reading that incorrectly, that means that Stewart gets more groundballs than Littell.
  5. My guess would be that Stewart is a groundball pitcher, in a flyball hitters park.
  6. And say Adrianza goes 4-4. You say keep going with the hot hand. How many consecutive 0-fer's before you decide he's not the hot hand anymore?
  7. Not forcing him, no. But Sano coming back should move Gonzalez back to the utility role he was signed for. I'd guess that either they don't view Astudillo's bat as sustainable, or they really don't like his 3B defense, as he's really the only other option before Sano gets back.
  8. He's not your typical rookie. If he's not comfortable shaking off the catcher, I don't want him on the team.
  9. Saying regression is "possible" means you think it's also possible that they'll be the best lineup TO EVER PLAY, IN THE HISTORY OF MLB.If that's your opinion, that's great, but that's going on an extremely narrow limb. Edit: I agree they should be a competitive team. I was responding to a poster saying they'll only get better as the season goes on. To which I'm curious where he sees enough improvement to not only makeup for the inevitable regression from the offense, but to actually get better overall.
  10. This will be a good lineup. Maybe even great. But they won't be the best lineup in the history of baseball, which is where they are currently on pace to be. Where are they going to make up that inevitable regression?
  11. The pitcher can shake him off. Pitch selection is on the pitcher.
  12. So the time to move him up in the order would be if he was hitting poorly?
  13. Are a lot of people calling it a good trade, or like me, are many simply saying it's too early to call it a bad trade? There is a big difference. And no, I personally wouldn't make that trade in reverse. I'd never trade a legit prospect for a reliever, ever. As a whole, I understand the increased value of bullpens, but on an individual level, they are still too inconsistent and unpredictable. With no data, just my impression, you seem to see far more good relief pitchers suddenly fall off a cliff than you do any other position.
  14. It certainly isn't the first time this FO has been extremely optimistic, at least publicly, in players injury timelines.
  15. I've seen people turn down a beer for many reasons in my life. Not once has the weather ever been one of those reasons.
  16. It's phased in over 5 years. Right now it's either 11.25 or 10.25, depending on how many employees these vendors have. So, nowhere near 15/hr.
  17. I guess Kiriloff's injury must be much worse than the Twins let on? At the start of the season Seth seemed to imply that he'd just miss a few days for precautionary reasons.
  18. I assume this means you have time to come over and clean out my garage?
  19. Yeah it's early, yeah it's one series. But losing 3 of 4 at home to a terrible team isn't encouraging.
  20. Polanco had a day off, the day after his cycle. And why would Cruz have to sit to give Rosario a day off? I no longer expect guys to necessarily play all 162, but no way should Rosario be drained this early, with a ton of scheduled days off already.
  21. Since when does Castro not frame pitches? I thought he was the pitch framing wizard.
