  1. 6 million would be an absolute bargain for an average starting pitcher.
  2. Poor guy can't catch a break.
  3. The suspense is killing me.
  4. Is Milone in, Nolasco out any tangibly different? Neither is going to be a part of the next contending team, and a couple more or less wins this season mean nothing. Any move that doesn't involve a legit potential future piece is just one step closer to complete apathy. Getting harder every day to care.
  5. Poor guy just can't catch a break.
  6. Yep. What's not to like. Now the whole mess is Sano's fault. Soon Reusse will be writing a column telling us he has sources that finger Sano as the second shooter on the grassy knoll.
  7. What was Ryan's justification for not improving the pen this offseason? It was that we had hard throwing youngsters who he hoped would be ready quickly. That logic makes no sense if he's going to use Chargois 2015 walk rate against him no matter how utterly dominant he is this year.
  8. You use the phrase "it's worth it if...." I'm curious what you mean by that. Do you think this team can still turn it around and make a playoff run?
  9. Wait , did you just say that he's not mlb ready, but if he pitches 14.1 more innings he should be closing mlb games? I think you overestimate how much more he can learn in 14 innings. If he's ready then he's ready now. If he's not ready now he's not going to be ready in 14 more innings.
  10. Well I find just about anyone a good bar buddy. But that doesn't mean I agree with you. Most of those reasons you listed are complete non issues, IMO.
  11. I don't think it's ridiculous at all. Again, I understand not spending during a rebuild. But, then they should be willing to carry that savings over to later years when they are ready to compete. They won't do that though. Or, they could have omitted the false statements about needing the stadium so that they could spend more. They said something that they knew had a fair chance of turning out to be false, to convince taxpayers to fund the stadium. That is a fact.
  12. Oh I agree, Johan is probably my favorite post Kirby Twin, and I have zero reason to doubt his work ethic. Like I said, just playing devil's advocate.
  13. Ok, I'm confused why you posted that link. Is Sano not allowed to have an agent? I don't see how this is even an issue, I honestly don't even know what you are implying by linking that article. The only person I have seen report any kind of bad attitude is Reusse, and I wouldn't believe a word that slime ball reporter says. Link other reports of him having a poor attitude and I would reconsiderecommend. Why on earth would the burden of proof be on me? I'm not alleging anything about him one way or another, you are. Sano has a very big frame. I don't consider him to have a weight problem at all. You can't just go by a number alone. In terms of body fat ratio, I'd guess Perkins and Mauer have far more extra body fat than Sano. Why are you not asking how they should be disciplined? Sano is not my favorite player, and I'm not blindly supporting him. I choose to judge players based on their play and things I can see. This NY Post/ TMZ pure speculation garbage disgusts me, until someone has some evidence of something he's done wrong. That goes for every player. Not just Sano, and not just Twins players. I've never said anywhere that Sano or anyone else is off the table. Nobody should be, though I suspect it would be hard to find someone willing to pay the ransom it would take to move Sano. There is a reason you almost never see that type of player traded. Perhaps you have me confused with another poster? I simply responded to the statement that people were starting to have doubts about him . I said nothing about him being off the table or what it would take to trade him.
  14. 1) No, they are not spending a comparable percentage of revenue any more. They did the first couple of seasons, it has steadily dropped since. 2) I would agree, but the Twins don't carry any savings over to future seasons, so I'd rather they spend it on payroll rather than pocket it. 3) I'm not arguing that they shouldn't have a responsible cap. My argument is they are not even spending that.
  15. Honestly, at this point this city deserves to have this pathetic product for a long time, with some of the garbage being said about one of only actual young bright spots on the team. There is literally no EVIDENCE whatsoever that Sano has any kind of attitude, coaching, conditioning or any other kind of problem at all. A bunch of pure speculation, and some laughable personal attacks. I can't understand where all this is coming from. I know it's frustrating right now, but I still don't get it. Criticism of on field things we can see are one thing, though I'd argue he's right on track in that regard, given his age. But we have people questioning his rock and roll lifestyle ( I don't even know what that means), and the fact that he seems to have an interest in earning money!
  16. He admits to love eating and HYPOTHETICALLY doesn't take coaching well? And his rock and roll lifestyle? What on earth does that even mean?
  17. I think you exaggerate when you say thousands of players get moved to a new position that they've never played before in their first full season. Machado is a decent example, except he moved over a few feet from SS to 3B. Not quite the same as moving from the infield to the outfield. Bryant was moved in his second full season. I'm not necessarily against Sano ever learning a new position. I'd rather he focus on hitting first at his age though.
  18. A position he's never played in his life. That is what the minor leagues are for. Hitting in the big leagues is hard enough at 22 when it's the only thing you have to focus on. Nevermind telling him hey by the way you play RF now kid. Saying he didn't bother to put in the work is speculation at best, spurred by a reporter who has no moral character for me to trust a word he says. If he really didn't put in the work, that's fair to criticize. But we don't know if that is true. Either way, yes I call that jerking him around. He should be allowed to adjust to hitting at the toughest level in the world without learning a completely new position as well.
  19. So before he was too good to go back to the rotation and now he's too bad? Is there a situation where he should get another shot at starting?
  20. The excuse for keeping May in the bullpen was that he's too valuable there to move back to the rotation. If he no longer has value in the pen he should be moved back into the rotation.
  21. I'm clinging to the hope that he's being stretched to go back to the rotation. Not that it's likely, but it's really all I have to cling to.
  22. Dozier is one player. When the whole team is under performing, that can't be just coincidence. In your example, if I'm a bad apple at my job, yeah it's my fault. If everyone in my department is consistently failing, it's my manager who is going to be out of a job.
  23. Wait, what? An ERA well over 5 over 45 starts?? That's about as consistently terrible as you are going to get in the post steroid age.
  24. Disagree. We'll start back up at 945.
  25. Relax guys. Terry can fix this thing. He just needs to take a look at more Grossman types (Burnett will help).
