  1. And find a real kicker for once, unreal.
  2. Post the video. A still shot tells me nothing. Perhaps there was some contact, a hand on the back, but if that's PI then almost every pass is PI. That wasn't even close to PI,IMO.
  3. This team will never win anything as long as Zimmer is the head coach.
  4. They showed it several times. Once it bounces off Diggs hands it's a tipped ball and there is no PI. And he didn't even make contact until after the ball hit Diggs hands.
  5. Diggs is completely overrated. That's three times tonight the ball hit him in the hands and he didn't catch it.
  6. That wasn't even close to PI. The ball hit Diggs hands before he even touched him.
  7. Rhodes doesn't even belong on an NFL roster. He's one of the worst corners in the league, IMO. Not sure what happened to him, there was a time he was elite. Zimmer continuing to play him is just another example of him being overrated as a head coach.
  8. As disappointed as I am in this loss, I'm confident we haven't seen the peak of this team. Fleck needs to recruit some legit running backs though, and some reinforcements for the front 7 on defense. And have a long talk with whomever thinks it's a good idea to give Rodney Smith the bulk of the carries, I don't get that.
  9. Oops, my bad for assuming that Google would know I want the current schedule, not 2017. You're right, it is a pretty weak schedule.
  10. As for the weather being a bad matchup against Wisconsin: someone might want to tell PJ that they play in an outdoor stadium in Minnesota. If cold snowy weather is ever a disadvantage to the home team, that's 100% on recruiting.
  11. I agree the Gophers are good. I just don't think they're great. A great team doesn't lose both Iowa and Wisconsin games. They at least split.I think new year's day games should be reserved for great teams. Clemson has 3 wins against top 25 teams, including one win against a top 10 team. I'm not sure what schedule you're looking at. EDIT: Incorrect info on Clemson schedule, oops.
  12. Perhaps Georgia Southern can't be classified as awful, but a big 10 team beating a sun belt team isn't noteworthy. For context, LSU - an actual great team, beat Georgia Southern by 52 points.
  13. I'm still rowing the boat too, but if this team gets a new years day bowl game then college football is broken. They've literally only beaten one good team. That one was a good win, but it's still just one. The rest of the wins were against awful teams.
  14. Cost of living differences don't mean much to the super rich, since they presumably don't spend but a tiny percentage of their income.
  15. Rooker has way too much swing and miss in his game, IMO. I don't even think he's close to the same class of prospect as Larnach.
  16. Jeter would be the only one on my ballot. But, I'm more of a "small hall" guy.
  17. No, but you typically don't see the top prospects moved for guys that aren't underpaid. I think teams place a lot of value on their second draft pick. I think a 4th or 5th rounder would be more likely in that scenario.
  18. Free play, and they check down for 2 yards.
  19. Why not take a shot at the endzone, you're already in field goal range. I don't get that.
  20. They typically target players with excess contract value though. Teams will pay full market salary for good players. And, teams will trade good prospects for good players. They rarely do both for the same player though. You'll fall behind other front offices pretty quickly if you make a habit out of paying full salary AND prospect capital for the type of player that other teams are only paying one or the other for.
  21. Not if said SP was already being paid full market price, no I don't think so. For a younger pitcher with excess value, yes.
  22. When the FO refused to offer Darvish the opt out he wanted, Falvey said something to the effect of, "I don't imagine a scenario where I'd ever consider giving a player opt out."
  23. You aren't just giving up your 2nd best pick though. You're giving up your second best pick, AND full market salary price. Why do that when you can just sign a FA from a similar tier for just the money? If draft picks could be traded, they'd look for excess value. Just like any other trade, less excess value equals less trade return. So, no, I don't believe teams would trade their 2nd best pick for a player with no excess value, if they were allowed to.
  24. Most of that is pretty much in line with what I said. I agree he needs help, and I agree throwing the book at people is rarely the right answer. He needs help for his anger issues. He might ALSO need help for addiction, but that's a separate issue. I said the anger and addiction issues are probably both caused by the same underlying issues. But the anger isn't caused by the addiction. Suggesting it is is dangerous. It IS straight out of Reefer Madness. It makes it easy to get society to go along with harsh drug sentencing, if you convince them that addiction causes people to attack their own daughters. I'm sorry but this is just wrong, and millions of non violent drug addicts are locked up because of this view.
  25. I don't agree. This is an anger and power issue that, IMO, has zero relation to any addiction issues. Claiming that drugs or alcohol can turn an otherwise stable person into a violent monster that can't control their urges is "Reefer Madness" level scare tactics that I'd hoped had been debunked by now. It's possible that the same underlying, untreated issues that cause his anger ALSO contribute to his addictive behavior, but it's not caused by his addiction. Treating a persons addiction alone won't do anything to treat their anger issues, that's something that has to be treated separately. No amount of drugs or alcohol is going to make a person do something they aren't capable of doing sober. That's not how impairment works.
