  1. He was rated, generally, as a number 3. So I don't think he was overrated. If anything, he was underrated, since he's already a #3, and is only 23 years old. He is far too young to make any proclamations about what his ceiling is. He's only 7 months older than Fernando Romero, for perspective. He's shown flashes of a good #2, borderline #1, and he certainly still has plenty of time to develop into that. I, personally, still think he will.
  2. Would this surprise anyone though? After Trump already said that McCain wasn't a war hero, because heroes don't get captured. Trump is an awful human being, who surrounds himself with other awful human beings. At some point, it's "case closed" and no further proof is needed.
  3. Unless we go to robo umpires, missed calls are always going to be part of pitching. Every pitcher in baseball has to deal with that.
  4. Career April/March OPS is .688, 90 points lower than his overall OPS, and by far his worse month. How is full career numbers recency bias?
  5. I don't pay as close attention to other teams milb systems, is it normal for an organization to have 3 top position player prospects need TJ surgery? This is starting to seem like a trend in this system, unfortunately. Is there something they do differently that is causing this?
  6. Unless the last year was all a dream, I think the Astros are the defending AL champions.
  7. Young or old, I've had my concerns about Rooker since day one, even when everyone else was praising his power last year. His start this year has obviously done nothing to ease those concerns. I'm obviously not ready to write him off this soon, but I wouldn't have him anywhere near as high as many do.
  8. Mistakes happen, so I'd be forgiving of filling out the wrong order. But not even knowing the rule? How is that even possible?
  9. I think the Twins will want to see Gordon keep it up in the second half before he goes to AAA. They already know he can rake in the first half.
  10. In baseball, you maintain prospect status until you reach 130 AB (or 50 innings pitched) in MLB.
  11. I'd assume he meant other stops in the Twins system, since even if he were called up today and never went back down, he wouldn't be a free agent until 2026.
  12. Oh, there are certainly question marks all over the place. Was his 2nd half sided by PED's? Will he recover quickly from so much time missed? Will there be every day playing time if Esco continues to hit, and Sano comes back and stays at 3B? All questions that will have to be answered. As for the quoted post, I was just giving a factual answer, not giving any opinion on who will or should play.
  13. MLB career. Polanco: 98 OPS+, positive defensive WAR. Escobar: 94 OPS+, negative defensive WAR .
  14. Polanco has better offensive and defensive numbers for his career than Escobar does.
  15. I think the better plan is a two prong approach. One, put in guidelines and incentives to bring tuition down. Two, a different approach to paying back student loans. Make them completely interest free (they'd have to be 100% guaranteed by the government obviously), with a 5 year grace period after graduation before repayment begins. And repayment amounts are a percentage of income.
  16. While I agree that players need to be able to stay on the field to be relevant, I'm not sure what Twitter or video games have to do with any of it.
  17. Average start in mlb is 5.4 innings. This is just the way it is now. It's not a Twins pitchers thing.
  18. Escobar was the starting SS before Sano got hurt, so the swap actually was Sano for Adrianza.
  19. Well I disagree, and I think the FO probably does too, that a starter can just develop a third pitch after they come up. And no, not every starter needs 6 or 7 years pitching in the minors, but Graterol has 1 season in the minors - unless you count the 11 innings he threw in 2015. If he comes up this time in 2021, when I think he will, he'll only have 4 years in the minors. I'd be all for these guys coming up faster, if they are ready. I like pushing prospects, constantly. But I'm not responding what I think is right or what I'd do, I'm responding with when i think he will come up.
  20. You are only wasting them if they are ready. If you think he's ready, you're entitled to your opinion.
  21. You can't just look at oWAR in a vacuum though. Players with less defense and baserunning and positional value need to hit a lot more to make up for those things. A .781 OPS for a catcher is phenomenal. For a bat only corner guy it's not good enough at anything but the league minimum. Sano's bWAR in '16 was barely above replacement level.
  22. Well I definitely wouldn't recommend anyone eat at McDonalds, but for other reasons than potential food poisoning. It shocks me how many millions of people actually like food that tastes like nothing but salt and fry oil.
  23. If Favre doesn't make a dumb throw, or no 12 men in the huddle, it doesn't go to OT. Also, how is recovering a fumble luck? And even if it is, the Vikings recovered as many or more of their fumbles than the Saints did. I don't think I ever claimed there is no luck in football, just less.
  24. Definitely not anything less than peak Miggy, no. But a .781 OPS from a below average at best third baseman is definitely mediocre. That's frankly not good enough from Sano, especially when we all know he's capable of more.
  25. According to CSPI data, you're actually more likely to get food poisoning at a medium to high priced sit down restaurant than you are at McDonalds. Mainly because your food is handled more at a sit down restaurant- fast food uses pre packaged and pre prepared. Also because fresh ingredients have more opportunities to become contaminated than pre prepared and preserved ingredients. Sit down restaurants do more handling of raw meats and seafood, increasing the chances of cross contamination. Fast food chains like McDonalds also have equipment that literally doesn't allow their products to be undercooked. Finally, huge corporations like McDonalds have more control over their suppliers handling processes before McDonalds receives the products.
