  1. 10 Walks in 12.1 IP in May, followed by 2 Walks over 25.2 innings in May & June. That can't be random. Was it a mechanical change? If not mechanical, I assume it's psychological. Will be interesting to see if he can keep it rolling in the majors. A lot of success in the majors comes down to mental resilience.
  2. I often forget this, so just posting in case others do as well & find it helpful. The Twins website does a great job detailing injury status & updates. Includes pretty detailed commentary & timelines. I often find myself wondering about status & forgetting where to check. Link: https://www.mlb.com/twins/news/twins-injuries-and-roster-moves

  4. Saying "we don't know yet" is ok. The Twins traded present for future production at last year's deadline. We don't know nearly enough yet to know whether the future production will pan out - that's the nature of trading current starters for prospects. Of the deals they made, I'd make every one of them again outside of Varland (although even there we don't have enough info). The Correa move was a pure salary dump. Duran for Tait & Abel I'd do again in a heartbeat. Jax for Bradley, yes please. (Bradley's already been far more valuable than Jax this year - 1.6 WAR vs. 0.2) Varland & France for Rojas & Roden - probably not, but Rojas & Roden both still time to make this a big win. Brock Stewart, Castro, and Bader weren't in the intermediate-term plans either way, so if any of those prospects pan out it's a small victory.
  5. The AI comment was meant to be a joke, I apologize. It's a very good article, and I appreciate the clarification.
  6. "A lot of that is buoyed by his four home runs and 10 walks, and his .383 OPS (yes, OPS, not OBP) casts a cloud over anyone who wants to believe that he’s a competent hitter." ? Kreidler does not have a 0.383 OPS. Was this paragraph written by AI?
  7. I wouldn't trade Abel and Tait for Duran right now. Abel's value has increased significantly since the trade.

  10. A lower-minors "rehab" assignment for a top prospect who isn't in the Majors to begin with is beyond absurd. Lol, what are we doing here? Jenkins should have been in the AAA line-up the first day he was ready.
  11. Culpepper's among the only Twins top prospects without major (or ongoing minor) injury issues the last 2 years. Hopefully he's back ASAP & it doesn't turn in to anything beyond a blip.
  12. Interesting perspective, as I felt the exact opposite. Caserta almost never stopped talking, and nearly all of it was superfluous. Trevor could hardly get a word in, and I remember thinking many times that Gregg had been talking for a full minute or two without providing a single word of entertainment or insight. Made the broadcast feel like a peppy, vacuous morning sports talk "roundtable" (an insufferable format).
  13. Gregg Caserta needs to calm down. Word count is around 3x too high.
  14. Why not include a longer list of prospects? There are some notable names missing here (including Jhomnardo Reyes, who Fangraphs has as the #10 prospect in the system).
  15. Great article! Here's hoping Royce sticks w/ the current mechanics. That leg kick's come & gone quite a few times during his tenure... it's working, stick with it!
  16. Don't know much about this kid, but sounds interesting. Just emerging now as a potential high-level prospect. 18 Year old from the Dominican. I see he's also listed as the Twins #10 prospect in the recent Fangraphs rankings. Played well in the Dominican summer league last year as a 17yo. Baseball America did a brief write-up on him today (just sharing the portion that isn't behind their paywall): "The Twins knew to expect big power from Jhomnardo Reyes, a 6-foot-4 right fielder who had 20 extra-base hits in 50 games in the Dominican Summer League last year. What surprised the Twins is how well Reyes has controlled the strike zone during his U.S. debut in the Rookie-level Florida Complex League. He struck 13 extra-base hits in his first 79 plate appearances, including four home runs, all while reducing his strikeout rate by nearly 10 percentage points. Reyes batted .359/.481/.719 through 21 games with 13 walks and 17 strikeouts."
  17. Great point. It's time to stop pretending the Twins have a "deep" system. As discussed in the Fangraphs thread, it's a middle of the pack system with a real lack of talent at the top end. Depth is solid, but it's middle to bottom end of the roster depth. Among other things, the Twins need to be far more aggressive with lottery swings in the international market.
  18. Reasonable number of 50 FV guys, but none above that. For reference, a Fangraphs 50 FV grade maps to "Average MLB regular," meaning they don't project a single current Twins minor leaguer as a better than average MLB regular in the future (while acknowledging it's a high-variance group). There are currently 33 total prospects in the minors with Fangraphs FV grades above 50. Interesting that they don't count Walker Jenkins among the top 33 prospects in the minors. Most do, although I tend to agree with Fangraphs' assessment. I suspect Jenkins will be a long-time MLB regular if he can figure out his injury issues.... but I don't see a star. It's a middle of the pack minor league system with decent depth, but really lacking at the top end.
  19. He's feasted against average college arms, but often struggles against real velocity or more premium stuff. Played poorly in the 2024 and 2025 Cape Cod leagues as one example.
