  1. 1. Lopez 2. Ryan 3. Paddack 4. Ober 5. Varland Yeah, the front office will need to do something. Wouldn't be shocked if Sonny's back.
  2. The play Kirilloff missed - you know who makes it.... Joey Gallo. Ducks...
  3. I'm not really angry. This team exceeded expectations and there's just too many young guys being asked to go toe-to-toe with a baseball dynasty. On a personal note, my dad went into the hospital on February 14th and was on and off a ventilator until he passed away on August 9th. I went and saw him nearly everyday. It was mentally and emotionally draining to see him like that. Baseball was such a pleasant escape for me and while I've been a Twins fan for over 30 years, this team was a special one for me because of the emotional attachment that I developed with it. Win or lose, I'll have fond memories of this group and how they helped provide a distraction during an otherwise horrendous time.
  4. If there's less than 2 guys on base - just walk him.
  5. Game was lost when Lewis struck out. Base hit in that spot and the entire complexion of the game changes.
  6. What's that saying in sports - something about needing to lose before you can win. Twins' young guys are going through it right now. Thought Correa would be enough to get them across the finish line - and he still might be - but if you Kirilloff, Julien, Lewis, Jeffers and Wallner learning on the job in October. Not an easy thing to do.
  7. Agreed. Was dreading the broadcasts but I think they did really well. Enjoyed Wainright's perspective.
  8. Gray's a bulldog and he's pitching with a sense of urgency. It won't be easy but I think he will outpitch Javier. And I think the homefield advantage is going to loom really large on Tuesday and Wednesday.
  9. This. It's 2023. Not 2012. If they trot Verlander out there on 3 days rest, they'll regret it.
  10. This Twins' team is the product of Carlos Correa. They're following his lead. Statistically, he's one of the best post-season players of all time. Then you add in the leadership, quiet confidence and swagger. Correa is doing for the Twins what Tom Brady did for the Bucs.
  11. Verlander on short rest is exactly what you want. He hasn't been the Verlander of old for most of the season and while he was dominant on Saturday, I don't think he could turn around on short rest and do the same thing in game 4. Twins can't worry about Friday. There doesn't have to be a game on Friday. Handle your business on Tuesday and Wednesday, end the series.
  12. Correa's one of the clutchest players in recent memory. Akin to Derek Jeter.
  13. This. The Twins have options for the ALCS. Ober, Maeda and Paddack can piggyback Ryan's start in game 1 - presuming the Twins win today.
  14. Honestly, I'd go out longer than 8 years. Sure, it is a risk if he gets injured but it is a risk the Twins have to take. I'd go out 12 years.
  15. Enjoyed Berrios time as a Twin and wish him a long and productive career. With that said, I hope the Twins unload on him today.
  16. Houston has the championship pedigree. Do I necessarily think it would be an upset? No. But the talking heads and media pundits would lose their minds if the Twins beat the Astros.
  17. Not going to lie. When Jax gave up the lead-off double, I had visions of a crooked number inning for Toronto. He settled down and got the 3 biggest outs of his career to date.
  18. Getting way ahead of yourself is part of the fun in being a fan. I'll play along. If the Twins were able to pull off the upset and beat Houston, they're going to the World Series.
  19. Royce Lewis and Carlos Correa - they have it. So too does Christian Vazquez and I think he'll have a 'moment' if the Twins make a run in October. But back to Lewis and Correa. Lewis exorcised about 20 years worth of demons in the first inning and Correa's play to get Bichette at home plate - not sure there's too many shortstops - past or present - that could've made that play. I know people soured on Correa after a down regular season but that play is why he's here.
  20. Regarding Gallo - the Twins like doing business with Boras. That's the primary reason Gallo is still around.
  21. That's a big time series win against a team that is desperate to win games. Impressive.
  22. Falvey and Levine take grief - and rightfully so, but Solano and Castro were afterthoughts when signed but both of them have loomed large this season.
  23. Hopefully the division is wrapped up this weekend...
