  1. 3 games for Ramirez. 6 games for Anderson. I don't understand how Anderson gets a heftier suspension. Ramirez seemed to be instigate the whole thing. Watching the replays, not really sure what prompted him to jump up and stick his hand in Anderson's face.
  2. The Yankees absolutely destroyed Joey Gallo. Steve Sax and Chuck Knoblauch have absolutely nothing on him.
  3. Kepler and Polanco are fixtures and whether we agree or not, the front office seems to love both guys. Polanco might face more of a roster crunch with Julien and Lewis, and with Lee looming in AAA. Wouldn't necessarily be shocked if Jorge's not on the team in 2024. But considering the lack of outfield options in-house, I think they pick up Kepler's option for next season. If not, they just paint themselves into a corner and force themselves into signing a stop-gap until one of the young guys are ready.
  4. Calling up Keuchel was a no-brainer. If he can pitch like he did yesterday, the Twins have someone that contribute down the stretch and hopefully in the post-season. Admittedly, it is a decent sized 'if' but we shall see...
  5. Jordan Luplow claimed off waivers. Not sure on any corresponding moves.
  6. Wondering if there's really an 'injury' to Ryan or this is a 10-day mental health break. Regardless, I think they made the right move with Keuchel.
  7. Not adding to the bullpen when Stewart is likely headed for TJ surgery is just mind boggling.
  8. I'll add that watching Lopez pitch is a lot of fun. When he's on his game, he's as good as anyone. He's absolutely the kind of pitcher that can win game 1 of playoff series - if the offense actually scores a run.
  9. Egos are a powerful thing... I'm not Rocco's biggest fan but I feel bad for the guy when it comes to Gallo. I think he does his best to keep him out of the lineup and even when he is playing, Rocco will yank him for pinch hitter in a pressure spot. But, I suspect the front office gets in his ear if Gallo gets too many DNP's and forces Rocco's hand.
  10. I can somewhat understand not grabbing a RH bat. Maybe the front office feels that the likes of Pham and Hernandez wouldn't move the needle all that much with Lewis being close to a return and Polanco being back. Okay, fine. But...there is absolutely no excuse for failing to add to the bullpen especially when Stewart looks like he could be heading for TJ surgery. This front office has a tendency to overcorrect. They swung and missed last August. This year, they don't even pick up a bat. It is amateur hour in Minnesota.
  11. Eduardo Rodriguez vetoed a trade to the Dodgers.
  12. Sox appear to be totally tearing it down. Division is there for the taking over the next couple of seasons. Twins really need to get it together and take advantage.
  13. White Sox traded Burger to the Marlins. Weird trade. I know Burger's stats aren't great outside of the homers but he's under team control for 5 more seasons. Seems like the kind of guy you hold onto for at least another season and see if you can sell high.
  14. We'll see. Still a lot of names that were all but definitely going to be traded. Whether or not to the Twins - remains to be seen.
  15. Agreed. He hasn't been great this year but he's been stingy in the past and he'd be a clear upgrade from Moran. I'm presuming (hoping) the Twins have a few things in the works...
  16. D-backs send Chafin to the Brewers.
  17. Been a relatively quiet deadline so far. Will there be a flurry of deals over the next 2.5 hours?
  18. Tigers close to trading Lorenzen to the Phillies.
  19. This is the last update I could find - as of July 5th... Gordon is no longer wearing a boot or a cast on his fractured right tibia, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports. Gordon is able to walk around normally now but has not been cleared to start running, nor is he sure about a potential timetable for a return. The utility player has been sidelined since mid-May.
  20. DFA is the way to go. Maybe if they acquire a bat (or two) today, they'll need to DFA Gallo to open up a roster spot?
  21. Might not mean anything but Wallner, Kepler and Gallo are in the line-up for tonight's game.
  22. Also, Cuddyer was a sneaky good athlete. He could play two corner OF positions as well as 1B, 3B and even 2B. No way could Wallner do that.
  23. Agreed on Wallner. He 'could' be a masher but he's just as likely to be a left-handed hitter with a huge hole in his bat and marginal defense in the field. The prospect label could be shed really quickly. I don't think he factors into their long-term plans so the time is now.
