  1. I wasn't enamored with Castillo. Is another team going to claim him? His control was shaky at best and the last couple of outings, there was some loud contact.
  2. Time will tell. Signing Jackson always seemed a bit odd to me. Small sample size in the majors and not much success. Maybe he can catch lightening in a bottle, but more than likely, considering his age, I think we're in the realm of what you see is what you get. Low leverage arm when you're up big or down big. Wouldn't mind Winder or Henriquez getting another look. Even if they have low ceilings, it's still higher than Jackson's.
  3. Guessing that Martin gets the call up.
  4. I also said to let him get himself out!
  5. The end of this game must be what hell is like.
  6. Just throw a fastball down Main Street and let him get himself out.
  7. Megill survives and Twins should pick up a game on Toronto in the wildcard standings.
  8. Bud Black just wants to get the hell out of Minnesota, lol.
  9. Jackson's just needs to lob the ball over the plate and let the Rockies hit it to someone.
  10. Speaking of relief pitcher meltdowns, our old friend, Trevor Megill, is on the verge of having one of his own against Toronto. Up 5-1 in the 9th, it is now 5-3 with the bases juiced and no one out.
  11. Feeling slightly better about the 9th...
  12. Rocco likely petitioning MLB to allow Thielbar a chance to come back in the game and pitch the 9th.
  13. IIRC, he just started tossing off the mound. Going to be a bit longer.
  14. Do-Hyoung Park posted it on Twitter. Rocco's MO as manager has been to get relief pitchers back on the mound as soon as possible so they can get the bad taste out of their mouths. Okay, fine, I get it - in theory. But sometimes as a manager, you have to read the room and you can't be so rigid and operate according to some pre-determined mandate. Thielbar's comments after the game last night sounded like a guy that was shot both physically and mentally. So, sure, Rocco's instinct is to throw him back out there ASAP and see if he can rebound. But, again, read the room. He wasn't ready to pitch again so soon and who knows if or when he'll be ready to pitch again. Nearly squandering a 7-run lead, when every game is important, all in the name of sticking to the script is managerial malpractice. There's zero excusing or defending the decision. It was horrible.
  15. Also, not ashamed to admit but the 4 run lead still doesn't seem like its enough.
  16. Twins have two studs on this team - C4 and Royce.
  17. Ummmm....150% agree that the front office is culpable here. But, so is Rocco. There is not another manager in baseball that would have pitched Thielbar today.
  18. Come on Royce, give us some breathing room.
  19. Stewart's injury really looms large.
  20. Who the hell pitches the 9th...Jackson!?
  21. Thielbar was a neat story considering the path that his career took. But, he's absolutely washed and it didn't take a baseball genius to know that after his comments last night, even he thinks he's washed. Putting him out there less than 24 hours later is probably the dumbest thing Rocco's done and that is saying a lot.
