  1. Julien isn't the fleetest of foot so combine that with not hustling - ugh.
  2. Zero confidence in the Twins scoring more runs today. Prove me wrong.
  3. I'm taking it at face value, and based on that, sitting Wallner makes no sense. Is there more to it? Potentially. But Rocco hasn't come close to earning the benefit of the doubt either this year or really any other season. He leaves himself open to criticism. That's not a 'scandal'.
  4. I'm still pissed that Rocco pulled Ober last night. I'm sure it was discussed at length but I wasn't in the game thread yesterday and I need to vent.
  5. There's no reason to sit Wallner today against a righty. It's Rocco being Rocco.
  6. Rocco going with a Ouija board lineup. Typical.
  7. Two seasons in a row where the bullpen has been horrific.
  8. After Wallner's near miss, the game-ending double play seemed like it was bound to happen. Not Solano's best day.
  9. Yes, he's been underwhelming at the plate. But watching that guy play short-stop on a nightly basis - it's an absolute joy. No real point to this thread other than to find a positive among a lot of the doubts and criticism that have been sent C4's way this season.
  10. Also, I'd be surprised if Kepler's NOT on the team next year. His salary isn't cost prohibitive at all, and unless the Twins want to go with Larnach as a starting outfielder - and I don't think they do, they'll probably pay more for a stopgap outfielder than they would be paying Kepler.
  11. Yeah, I'm not sure what to think about Julien. His biggest issue is that his bat is the only reason you would want him playing on a regular basis. If he can't make some counter-adjustments, then he might not be the long-term option that some thought he would be.
  12. Oh, and the Tigers are just an annoying team. Vierling, Carpenter, Torkelson, McKinstry. Pesky and they don't go away. They also have a pretty good manager. Will be glad when the Twins are done with them for the season.
  13. I'll eat an appetizer portion of crow on Wallner because I was ready to trade him at the deadline. He's showing that he could very well be a long-term fixture in the outfield.
  14. If you want to apply the logic that losing 3 of 4 to the Tigers dooms the Twins, then you can flip the script and say winning the season series against the Astros elevates the Twins to World Series contender.
  15. Pagan. Jax just doesn't have an 'out' pitch right now. Absolutely crazy to me that the front office didn't learn anything from last season.
  16. This is why you can't trust Sonny Gray in a big spot. The box score will say quality start. But the reality is, he's too reliant on off speed stuff and is prone to meltdowns. That same pitching performance against a good team, and Sonny's line looks a lot different.
  17. Based on what? The squaring up was almost simultaneous and Ramirez started the entire incident by jumping up and pointing in his face. If Anderson should get more than 6 games, so should Ramirez.
  18. I'd be fine with Lewis in the outfield. IIRC, didn't he say he wouldn't play in the outfield and the Twins were going to oblige? Don't get me wrong. I think it is a foolish idea for the Twins to let Lewis dictate where he plays. Perhaps they sing a different tune as next season gets closer. Lewis in the outfield clears up a bit of the clutter.
  19. Put he's without a position, or at least I think he is. Doesn't mean he can't stick with the Twins, but it makes his situation a bit more complicated, IMHO.
  20. Would anyone be surprised if Julien and Larnach are packaged this winter for a right-handed outfielder? I don't see where Julien fits long-term - isn't Brooks going to settle at 2B? Correa at SS for next 5, potentially 9, years. Lewis at 3B. Kirilloff at 1B. I don't think Julien can play in the outfield, so where is his future?
  21. I think you're right that past history played a factor. I didn't realize he had been warned before the incident. To me, looked like Ramirez was pissed that Anderson didn't help him up and things escalated quickly from there.
  22. 3 games for Ramirez. 6 games for Anderson. I don't understand how Anderson gets a heftier suspension. Ramirez seemed to be instigate the whole thing. Watching the replays, not really sure what prompted him to jump up and stick his hand in Anderson's face.
  23. The Yankees absolutely destroyed Joey Gallo. Steve Sax and Chuck Knoblauch have absolutely nothing on him.
  24. Kepler and Polanco are fixtures and whether we agree or not, the front office seems to love both guys. Polanco might face more of a roster crunch with Julien and Lewis, and with Lee looming in AAA. Wouldn't necessarily be shocked if Jorge's not on the team in 2024. But considering the lack of outfield options in-house, I think they pick up Kepler's option for next season. If not, they just paint themselves into a corner and force themselves into signing a stop-gap until one of the young guys are ready.
