  1. Did I say that Buxton opened negotiations? You can believe what you want. Every free agency decision has layers to it and gray areas. If you think it is linear, then that's your opinion.
  2. It isn't misinformation. You think Buxton wasn't prompted by Correa? You think Boras reached out to Falvey without Correa's direction?
  3. I don't know how the Giants feel about missing out on Correa, but I think the Mets have some regret. Money's not a concern for Cohen so even if they did give Correa a 13-year deal and he crapped out on the back end, it wouldn't have a huge impact on Cohen or the Mets' finances. The negotiations with the Mets turned into a pissing match between Cohen and Boras. That's when Correa turned back and reached out to Buxton to open the lines of communication with the Twins. The Mets' revised offer was still more than what the Twins were offering but the interest from Correa was always lukewarm at best and when the Mets and Twins had at least somewhat comparable deals on the table, C4 went where he wanted to be.
  4. He used the change up really well today. Was nice to see.
  5. This. Lewis is the energizer bunny. But it's Correa's team. One of the best leaders in baseball.
  6. He was pressing in 2022 and the team as a whole fell off the rails in August. Last year, he played on one leg. What we're seeing now, this is C4.
  7. Nice comeback. Twins have to bank wins against bad teams and they have been doing just that. Hopefully Ober keeps it going today with a good outing...and one that goes into the sixth or even seventh.
  8. Boras is a dinosaur. This isn't 2003 when you have the Yankees handing out silly money. The market is set early on in the off-season. Very difficult to re-set that market when its only a handful of players that are looking for mega contracts - and in some cases, those players don't deserve that kind of money.
  9. At this point, and take from this what you will, but Manny Margot is the least of the team's problems right now.
  10. I know I sound like a broken record - but if the Twins fired Popkins today, is there another MLB team that would hire him? His resume and track record are non-existent.
  11. It is becoming a recurring theme. Minor league talent reaches the majors, gets off to a great start, struggles, and then is either benched or demoted. It doesn't take MLB pitchers too long to make adjustments. Good hitters make the counter adjustments. Royce Lewis is the outlier. The rest of the Twins' young players do not seem capable of making those counter adjustments. I wonder why that is...
  12. I wasn't enamored with Castillo. Is another team going to claim him? His control was shaky at best and the last couple of outings, there was some loud contact.
  13. Time will tell. Signing Jackson always seemed a bit odd to me. Small sample size in the majors and not much success. Maybe he can catch lightening in a bottle, but more than likely, considering his age, I think we're in the realm of what you see is what you get. Low leverage arm when you're up big or down big. Wouldn't mind Winder or Henriquez getting another look. Even if they have low ceilings, it's still higher than Jackson's.
  14. Guessing that Martin gets the call up.
  15. I also said to let him get himself out!
  16. The end of this game must be what hell is like.
