  1. When Thielbar is bad, he's horrifically bad.
  2. Wasn't Margot supposed to be good defensively? It's surprising too because the Rays typically preach fundamentally sound baseball. He's the opposite thus far.
  3. Thielbar back. Alcala optioned. A little surprised that they're carrying three lefties at least for the time being. I thought Alcala looked good.
  4. Correa injury is now being described as a mild right intercostal strain. Seems to be different and better than an oblique injury.
  5. This team was 2 games under .500 on Memorial Day last year. They can top that.
  6. Also no one in this division is running away and hiding. Guardians look different when they aren't playing Oakland and the White Sox. Tigers line up is whole and they're still worse than the Twins current iteration. Royals are playing decent but they don't have nearly enough. Just stay at .500 until Correa and Lewis go back, then go on a run.
  7. 6-7... Things could be a lot worse. Lost in the justified angst about the injuries and hitting, this pitching staff could be good. Really good. Lopez will round into form as the weather warms. Bullpen reinforcements on the way. Ryan looks world's better than last year. The staff is good enough for this to be a .500 team. If someone in the lineup can just get hot enough to carry them for a couple of weeks, they'll be fine.
  8. There's plenty of stories about professional athletes who lost millions, if not everything, because they let the wrong people manage their finances. It is not out of the realm of possibility that Ohtani wasn't at all aware of what was going on. But... What I find interesting is that his agent was aware of the account and asked Ippei about on multiple occasions. The agent wasn't implicated. So, that begs the question for me. What was the deal with the agent? Did he accept Ippei at face value and never mentioned it to Ohtani? That's where it gets murky for me. I would suspect the agent would've given his client a head's up...
  9. Something lost in the homestand is that the pitching, at least as of now, isn't a big cause for concern. Once the bullpen is at 100%, the Twins are going to be able to shorten and win a lot of close games.
  10. All things considered, 4-6 isn't too bad. Bats have to start waking up but encouraging signs from Ober and Paddack. Bullpen is getting healthy. Onto Detroit.
  11. Okert. Some serious white knuckle time.
  12. Inexcusable. Rocco needs to do better.
  13. Castro was such a shot in the arm last season. Total opposite this year.
  14. Also, I can't stand Joe Kelly.
  15. Who pitches the 8th? Jackson? Okert? PTSD from Monday night looms large.
  16. And if all goes well, you won't see the top of the order again today.
  17. Correa's the best shortstop in baseball and it isn't even close, IYAM.
  18. Correa's a freaking stud.
  19. Just a really bad haircut.
  20. Wow. Didn't think we'd see Stewart today. Absolutely cannot afford to walk Barnes.
  21. Not even sure they're really fans so much as bandwagoners. But I get it...
  22. Worst part of this homestand, other than potentially going winless of course and the historically bad at bats, hearing Dodger fans boo Correa at Target Field.
