  1. All im saying nurse is Taylor and Muncy would be top 5 players on our roster. I would do cartwheels at the age of 63 if we could even dip into their end of the pool. They are not scrap compared to what we are signing. That's how pathetic our roster is and our free agent activity. With all the contradictions I'm getting and thumbs down, I am putting my social security checks aside so I can afford those world series tickets baby! Can't wait to see what you all have to say in June. This should be funny!
  2. Nope. And it looks like another mediocre to poor season. How can anyone like this roster and think it's going to be competitive? It's worse than last year with the subtractions. I don't get it.
  3. Cmon Nurse you can do better. Muncy and Taylor would be top 5 on our roster, hardly scrap heap. We can't afford someone like that. I am talking DeSclafani. Topa, Luplow, Gallo, Paddack etc etc. (I know these were trades, but we can't do that right either. ) Guys cheap due to injuries or can't find a team that wants them. That's all we ever sign in free agency. We should start signing some in about 2 months when the meat is gone and the carcass is still there. IF we could at least spend to get a Muncy or Taylor, Twins fans would be ecstatic. I will remember you come June and see what you think of our potent line up at that time. Also, if you could post a list of mid tier FA's we have signed this winter, I would appreciate it. Maybe you could update it every week. Thanks!
  4. That's how pathetic the Twins lineups have been for years. Nothing changing either until we get new owners and spend some money. At least go for some mid level tiered free agents, not scraps and players that others gave up on. $40M gets us in the middle of the pack dollars wise and maybe some hope with better ballplayers.
  5. Problem is there is no bridge. All the bridges are being constructed on other teams. We complain and complain every year about status quo, then the next year arrives with nothing changing, and all of a sudden everything is OK. I guess that's the magic of a new season, baseball, and spring training.
  6. Career averages..244 avg., 13 HR, 35 rbi per year. Not an exact measurement due to games played, but hugely overrated. I'll give you his defensive prowess, but he should be a backup or utility outfielder due to his inability to stay on the field. Spot start him about 60-80 games a year to keep him healthy. Get a real ball player. I am not going to list who i would rather have because I would run out of space. There are many LF and RF you could move to center also. As I stated earlier, if we are counting on Buxton and the like, we are defeated before the season starts. I understand your payroll comment, but that's why I said it's hard to care what this team does until we get new owners. We can't even keep or acquire middle of the road FA's. It's a pathetic time for this organization. Get ready for another season of complaining and apathy on this site.
  7. I've been sitting back reading posts about who's gonna hit cleanup. Who's gonna play third. Who's gonna play first. Who will backup Buxton. On a real team, Buxton would be the backup. Names being thrown out like Lee, Larnach, Wallner, Martin, Julien, Miranda etc., etc., etc., just solidify how inept this team and front office are. Free agents are flying off the board, and we just sit back, because we are smarter than everyone else. We are set! It is so discouraging and demoralizing that it is very hard to get excited for the upcoming season. The greatest sport in the world, and most exciting preseason in sport, and it leaves me not caring. Hopefully we get new owners soon that can bring back the excitement to greatest game on earth. Until then, there is no excitement in Twinkytown.
  8. With Paddack, it's simple addition by subtraction. If we have to rely on him being in the rotation or high leverage spots, we might as well raise the white flag now.
  9. And don't forget the most important; we have the BEST bullpen in baseball! And so much starting pitching our rotation would make the '66 Dodgers blush!
  10. If we are known to have the best bullpen in baseball, I would be willing to pull the wool further over their eyes and offer up the WHOLE bullpen.
  11. One disadvantage for the Twins would be that we don't have a anyone that would qualify as a golden bat.
  12. You don't think Correa would be salivating to get away from the dumpster fire known as the Minnesota Twins?
  13. Quit signing reclamation projects and rejects other teams don't want. Pretty simple.
  14. Do you think they will be available on DISH network? How do you think it will work if so?
  15. I would change this to "offense to any of the internal options". It's time to change the "Twins way".
  16. So does anyone know what Levine actually did? Who was more responsible for roster construction, Falvey or Levine?
  17. It's as simple as Kelly "knew how to manage". Rocco is completely on the opposite side of that spectrum. He doesn't have a clue.
  18. Exactly. It's not like he hit 50 HR with 120 rbi with a .350 avg through the 100 games. His production was mediocre.
  19. Just keeps getting better in Twinkieville! Rocco has a handle on things though.
