  1. Cannot believe it's a ML deal and not a minor league signing.........Rizzo must have wanted too much or just plain wouldn't come here. And why do the Twins seem to dislike LH pitching?????
  2. Used to spend thousands and spend a lot of hours on the road traveling 180 miles round trip back in the day. Thousands at The Westin and Ikes / Keirens and Nyes.......but they got their new stadium and didn't spend for a GREAT team , instead pocketing the $$$$$ So i'm done spending on them completely now for a number of years....20/30 games a year to ZERO. They hope and pray for a central division leader and then get wiped out by whomever. We are not rich by any means and spent a LOT of our $$$ on supporting them....so I guess I'm the moron.
  3. So Gasper will replace Margot as out PH specialist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. LH pen arm and get Paddack or Castro down the road for the savings they are seeking. Minor league flyers on some pen arms are always welcomed. As hard as it is to get arms I would trade Castro 1st. Everyone seems to list Vasquez as a trade chip but of the Twins need to eat half his salary there is no reason to trade him then.....He's a solid defensive catcher who ended up not all that far behind JEffers on offense.
  5. You simply CANNOT say "to spell Buxton" NO way , No how and never in hell can you count on Buxton to play the majority of games in CF Too many years of being hurt for far too long to count on him. They need a good CF besides him. Period. He's not a young player anymore and only twice has he been what one would call a regular.
  6. Needed 2 more starters LAST year , why get rid of the starting pitchers we DID have? Trade Correa and trade Buck.
  7. They will make a LOT of $$$$$$ when they sell the team. Quite a return on investment. They will do much better than their radio station investment worked out.
  8. Kep had one good year in the juiced ball year. He played well above average defense most of the time and had some bone headed mistakes as well ( not Eddie Rosario bad , but bad). HE kept out of trouble and seemingly was good in clubhouse. He however showed little fire , was always getting hurt and the past few years seemed more interested in being in France with his lady of the day and eating pastries. When asked to play CF part time a couple years back he refused...........that doesnt sit well with me.
  9. Kirbys career low was like 108 in the strike shortened season so he missed a chance to play in like 6 more weeks
  10. I remember the confetti and fireworks when Kirby hit 100 games played!!!!
  11. When they didn't jettison Farmer or Vasquez this winter/spring for more pitching you knew the writing was on the wall. When they do sell , they will make tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars on the sale. Yet these skin flint tight arsed owners won't spend diddly to improve this team. The apple didn't fall one inch away from the original foreclosure specialist.
  12. They did the Margot trade......they signed fine china handle with care Buxton to the extension.........so some horrible moments...... the Cruz trade was a gem for them........Rodgers trade I would say was ok and getting Maeda was a good trade. And I was more than fine with sending Araez for Pablo. That trade worked for both teams - the way trades should work. Not getting help in the rotation this past winter was a horrible decision...but was one that was not up to them possibly with the intense cheapness of the Pohlads...... Santana signing so far looks terrible. Was zero need for a aged 1B option. How much $$$ is tied up in Farmer????? Should have been spent on a starter.
  13. How much increase in team value have the Pohlad's seen over the years??? How much did taxpayers spend to pay for the stadium the Twins play in??? I'm sick and tired of the Pohlad's playing poor. This team needs another starting arm BADLY. Sign Clevenger or Lorenzen or sell the team and shove the hundreds of millions of profit in your pockets and get out of MN otherwise. This pitiful division could be easily won by the Twins with any amount of effort to improve instead of dumpster diving. Who coulda thunk DisCo would end up lame???? good god.
  14. This move was all about $$$$$$$$$ No way MAT was coming back for the $$$ they got Margot for. The Twins STILL could go sign Clevenger and end up in the payroll range they stated they wanted to stay within months ago. They need to grab Clevenger. Period. Varlands unproven and Paddock and DeScan are both injury concerns and NOT gonna pitch over 100 innings. I'd love to be wrong on that , but strongly doubt it. 20 5 inning starts for all of those 3 would be a giant positive.
  15. If they trade Farmer and Kiki gets a minor league deal , SURE. Otherwise there is ZERO need for him. Farmer hits Rh and can still play SS , which means he can play anywhere on the field if needed.
  16. CLevinger yes. Bauer no.
  17. MIchael A Taylor. And I'd take him over any other options in CF , even Buxton. Odds of Taylor being able to pay 100 games in CF HAVE to be 10X greater then fine china handle with care Buxton.
  18. He spent last winter sitting around in Paris with his gal......not doing anything to prepare for the year. Then he has what can only be described as a HORRIBLE first half of the season. If he prepared like a professional I'd possibly think of a incentive laden extension. Until he becomes a pros pro , no !
  19. I'm curious. Could the Pohlads start up their own TV station ( like YES for the Yankees)?????? The Pohlad's have much deeper pockets than the Steinbrenner's correct???? Seems like this could be the answer??? Or am I wrong??? I swear to god I've heard the Pohlad's are actually one of the richest team owners in ALL of baseball??
  20. I still think Farmer or Vasquez are gonna be gone.....I'd prefer Vasquez , But I'm guessing Farmer might be more likely to be traded. Some teams are shy on SS talent and I think Farmer could fill that need for a year or two yet.
  21. Total and complete answer is NO. Get MAT back and start the season.
  22. If he's just the 1B platoon and once in a blue moon DH I'm fine. In MLB $5 million is nothing , plus its way better than $10 million for Gallo. Santana will give them professional ab's at a WAY better rate then Joey gave them. Still like to see a trade of Farmer for arms.
  23. The front office was upfront about cutting payroll...thank you TV deal. This does that for now. They have a logjam of infielders......so this lessons that. Needed arms........so got a pen piece and a #5 starter possibly. So I'm ok with that as well. I liked Polanco and he was a good player for us for some time. Loved the fact he was a rather balanced switch hitter. Time will tell , like ALL trades. The young OF may or may not be the deal breaker.
  24. Sano just never seemed to give a rats rear about his profession. No effort to stay in any kind of shape. Literally none. No one in the organization could get him to be a professional ( assuming someone tried to get it thru his skull). Got a taste of $$$ and the high life and packed it in it seems. Had plenty of talent to get to the pros , but not enough passion to keep him in the bigs. Never have liked Gallo , but at least he could play all over the OF and 1b quite respectfully.
