    I doubt it Eric Fryer and Chris Hermann are the kind of catchers available at this point. At least there are some prospects in the SS pipeline, they really need to address catcher in the off season because it is a gaping void in the organization.

    Biggest complaint with Phil Hughes this year, the F*&K is with all the 2 seamers. He was good up in the zone getting flyouts and strikeouts why the sudden need for ground balls.

    Im all for TR being done but I don't think inaction at the deadline is too big a mark against him. Even if they had/ do sneak into the playoffs they were going to be a quick exit the talent level of this team just isn't there yet. You can't trade for a SS/ C/ Starter/ and half a bullpen.

    Because despite the vastly increased usage of advanced stats to manage day to day game planning and such Terry Ryan still makes roster decisions in the same ole TR way of gut instinct and veteran grittiness. Even if they had all preformed well Boyer/ Duensing/ Fien is not a good core for a bullpen ideally you carry one of those three for your middle relief role.

    Meh I don't love it but they needed an arm for the pen and Hu was a pretty expendable piece. A classic TR scrap heap deal. Who gets the axe, hopefully Boyer.

    TR was a good small market, old school GM for a cheap franchise in a cheap division. Those days are past and so should have Ryan's days as GM. The seeming embrace of advanced statistics that has been under way with Molitor needs to be strengthened by a like minded GM and overall organizational approach. Time for the Twins to catch up and compete with the talent that is about to take over.

    Eat the whole contract and May/ Polanco/ Rosario is probably about as high as I would go (and that wouldn't get it done). They don't have enough young high end pitching to be trading it yet. .

    Dozier might like him but Mauer would hate him.

    Awesome to see him come up with the patience of a power hitter already. Arcia and Vargas should take note how pitchers eventually have to throw you something to hit if you don't swing at every pitch. If Sano keeps hitting for another week or two TR should be working the trade phones hard to move Plouffe. His value is huge if he is even a mediocre defender at 3rd, and he has upside better than that.
