  1. Lopez and Lewis were amazing. Bullpen was amazing. Correa and Taylor’s defense, though. They deserve just as much credit. We lose if Correa doesn’t pull a Jeter on Polanco’s gaffe and Taylor doesn’t catch Chapman‘s deep fly to right center.
  2. Polanco was terrible. Two botched plays at third (bailed out by Correa in one), and didn’t look good at the plate. That guy’s got so much bad playoff juju pumping through his veins. Hopefully it’s out his system now. You have to have him in the lineup, but put him down in the 8 or 9 hole.
  3. He’s just trying not to be a conspiracy theory.
  4. That game alone makes the Arraez trade worth it.
  5. Bring Duran in here, Baldelli. You have to get by 2 more good hitters.
  6. Great inning, Thielbar! Get some insurance runs here.
  7. I’ve counted 3 strikes called balls this inning. Come on.
  8. Let Alex K hit. Stupid. It’s the 5th inning and it’s Donovan Solano.
  9. Just don’t get Lewis hurt on the bases here.
  10. Sure would’ve been nice to have him up with 2 on. But, my God, Royce. This is unreal.
  11. The Blue Jays manager has the gall to bitch about a borderline call after getting a pitch a foot inside to kill a potential multi-run inning.
  12. Maybe more. Lewis comes up with 2 RISP, and Gausman likely racks up 5-10 more pitches. Unbelievably brutal call.
  13. Gausman bailed out by an absolute gift. As A Rod would say, I don’t want to be a conspiracy theory, but the Twins never get those calls in the playoffs.
  14. Taking fantastic ABs to start this series. With the exception of Polanco and Correas ABs, looked in control.
  15. If Correa takes ABs like that all day, gotta think whether he can be in the lineup for game 2. Might as well put a mannequin up there.
  16. Lol, error on the first play. Can’t make it up.
  17. Really disappointed that Buxton can’t go. Say what you want, but even as a pinch runner or pinch hitter against a lefty, he could make a huge impact if somewhat healthy. Id also like to see Larnach, if healthy. Pinch hitter for Taylor late in the game against a righty. But, as stated, nothing egregious here.
  18. Pretty simple what got them there. Incompetent roster management. They’ve (referring to all applicable Twins FOs) done a decent job in putting together a starting point. But, they stop short. They don’t do enough in the off-season, and either sit on their hands at the deadline or make a bad trade. Everyone else gets better, while they stay stagnant, so they’re almost always at a talent deficit in the postseason. You lose 18 straight by having inferior players. Also, horrendously one sided umpiring. Some of those Yankees losses were some of the most blatantly biased officiating I’ve ever seen in any sport at any level.
  19. 3:30 start times are awful for people with young kids and a career. At least for this guy with young kids and a career. Pretty disappointing Should be a good series. It’s easily the team the Twins have the best chance of beating. But, Blue Jays fans are saying the same thing right now. If the streak doesn’t end this year, it may go on forever.
